  an old friend of the family stopped by my house last night.

  i had not seen him for about two years.

  he was disfellowhispped about 3 or 4 years ago, but would drop in every now and ask me business related questions.

  You are right...the freedom of not having to tiptoe is nice.
  Thanks for your advice. Until I actually get a call from an elder (that has never happened since I stopped going to meetings over three years ago) I won't worry about it.

  An old friend of the family stopped by my house last night. I had not seen him for about two years. He was disfellowhispped about 3 or 4 years ago, but would drop in every now and ask me business related questions. (I had sold him some investments when I was in that business several years ago).

  Anyway, we talked business for awhile, and then he asked me if I was going to the hall, or if I had been disfellowshipped. I told him that I have not been booted out, but that I don't believe they are really the true religion and I was tired of the hypocrsy on the local and wts level. He said he was trying to get reinstated again, and wanted to study with me when he did (neaning the for the watchtower, not as him leading the study). My family has known him for over 15 years and when he was not disfellowshipped (this is time number 3) he was quite close with my family, like another brother.

  Anyhoo...I told him that I would not discourage him from doing what he thinks is right, but that I did not share my views with other witnesses because i didn't want to get labelled an apostate. I am afraid he will say something to the elders, thinkinig he will help me.

  Oh well....I am hoping to avoid the DF because my mother is active and she practically lives with us (she owns the duplex we live in, and we are over her apartment and vice versa a lot).

  back in the dark ages did you used to come into message boards like this one, or h20 and try to defend the watchtower society?

  i did and things didn't work out so well.

  actually they worked out fine, i switched teams.

  I never went on an "apostate" board or site until a few months ago. It didn't really occur to me. I don't think I could have handled the guilt if I had tried as an active witness, hahahah!

  Car Group Visited Today

  just when i thought i was almost over being angry my "brothers" got my blood going again.

  my wife and i were polite, saying at first it was good to see them after so long and the first thing the elder in the group said was..."well you know where to find us, at the kingdom hall.

  " well normally i'm fairly mild mannered, but, that just got under my skin.

  It reminds me of when I return back to my home state after being gone for about 6 months. I had gotten married and called my best friend (who is a JW) and we talked a while on the phone to catch up. When I told her I wanted to see her and her family and introduce my husband I got the "Well you know where to find us, on any Sunday morning". This is the family that used to have me over their house at least twice a week.

  Would it kill them to let me stop by the house or meet them at a coffee shop?

  (it was early) .

  anyone out there have any experience with digital video editing software?

  The baby is fine, thanks for asking! She is 5 weeks old and thriving! She definately rules the house though hahaah!

  Anyone out there have any experience with digital video editing software? I have read a few things online, but I am not sure what is the best way to go. I would love to get some advice, and maybe see what some of you have.

  i'm going to respond to this journalist and tell him about the dubs.

  I think it was interesting to read this paragraph in th article:

  "Church Elder Tad R. Callister said the church recognized its shortcoming when it recently released its "Doctrine of Inclusion," which implores members to better embrace nonmembers--whether people of other religions or former Mormons."

  Another thing you are not likely to hear at a KH.

  going back to 1889 and telling them that the new system will not arrive until at least 2001?.

  or even.... going back to 1975 and telling them that the new system will not arrive until at least 2001?.

  and will i be asking the same question in 2051 about the situation now?

  I think one of the daughters on the show also posed in some pretty steamy poses for a magazine about a year or so ago hoping she would be able to get out of her contract.
