ALL JWs Are To Be Evangelizers---Per The New Watchtower
by minimus ini visited my mother yesterday and asked her if she had the latest magazines.
i believe the march 15th's lead study article is the ne that states that all jws are supposed to be evangelizers.
before my mother and i discussed the article, i asked her if all jws were supposed to be evangelizers.

pork roast with honey, mustard and chili powder I have no idea how it is going to taste...I buy those oven bags and through big pieces of meat in them with wierd stuff and let them cook for a few hours. I bet those bags would even make squirrel really good...probably will go really lazy and make the son whip up some instant mashed potatos and just heat up some green veggies and some yellow veggies, and have green ice cream for dessert
I had alligator for the first time last week...not bad!

I do think that it is a religion that seems more accepting at first to those who may have mental illness already, or a predisposition to such.
I am NOT saying that no one could say that JW teachings and treatment do not cause problems, but I think that more often than not it just makes it worse, not necessarily is the only cause. Of course, the many decades of warning witnesses to stay away from mental health professionals does not help. Many are changing their thinking on that, but it still has a sigma. I think JWS with mental health issues born before the 1970s suffered a great deal. That people are NOT getting treatment because they think praying and talking to the elders cures all makes things soooo much worse
Elders, as a group, really do not understand mental illness at .all. It is a sad thing...

SNOW!!!!!!!!! in North Texas
by arrowstar ini know..i know...y'all are probably sick to death of snow those of you who get real snow.
but, here in north texas, we seldom get "real" snow.
we typically get what they call a "wintery mix" (snow, sleet and freezing rain).

NeonMadman congrats!!! that is quite an achievement!
Mulan, congrats to you too....I have a friend that just started South Beach about a month ago too...I was thinking of getting the book to check it out. It sounds a bit like Atkins, but at a moderate pace.
There is that Glymeric Index thing too....havent read about that...but I heard that is more of a lifestyle change too, which is what seems to work the best. Before I moved I had just cut back on portions, drank more water, watched the little things that used to sneak into my mouth, like those pesky candy bars and shakes...and went to the gym 3 or 4 times a week...and I lost about 20 lbs slowly over a few months but felt great....now that I moved, I have no gym...never can get out of the house and have been too lazy...so it all came back....my bad.
I do have a pilates dvd and good yoga for dummies dvd I used to do...I just need the motivation is all sigh

I did it in the past...but I found that if you live with other people it is difficult to follow it......the first phase especially.
IT does work, but you really need to monitor your health with those pee strips and stuff....and drink plenty of water so your breath is not too nasty.
The problem is once you fall off of the Atkins diet, the pounds come right back on...believe you me, I know!!!!!

about two weeks after the first set of brothers came, a new set from the local hall came by again this past Saturday morning.
(the first visit...if you are interested. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/65579/1.ashx ...no biggie)
My son said it was a different set, two youngish brothers...he said they could be between "my uncles age and your age mom" as my son put it...so they are pretty young between 25 and 35. He told them I was asleep...which I was (I admit it, I do sleep in on Saturdays!!!).
I did not find out until a few days later that they had come by. We were in the car coming back from somewhere (I cannot remember where) and my son turned to me, and said, "Mom, I have to tell you something, but it is going to make you mad, but I have to tell you..."
Basically, he did not want to tell me because I was so upset last time, and he was scared by how angry I got about it, and didnt want to upset me. I was really taken aback. I had no idea I came off that mad about the whole thing....I felt really bad for my son. I am glad he told me that they came by, and that I mad him afraid...I had no idea...I learned something about myself, thats for sure!
It made me realize that I obviously have to work on my temper...this is the only incident that has made he feel that way, he says. But I didn't think I was that mad at all...
The second thing is how foolish and silly I have been to let the fact that they stop by get me all worked up. I was only really mad the first time because I felt betrayed by my mom. I told my son that had I been up, I would have gone to the door and said, nice to meet ya, I know where you are, don't let the door hit your ass on the wait out. That I was not mad at them....I was upset at my mother, and that I was over it.
The third thing I learned is maybe I shouldnt sleep so late on Saturdays. I don't want my 13 year old son cringe if someone is at the door.
