it's so hilarious..... it's by the same folks that do family guy.
American Dad isn't quite up to family guy, but it is still funny.
You know what is funny, I think Seth McFarland, the creator, really wantd to secretly to be a lounge singer. He does a lot of singing lately as Brian, American Dad...etc....pretty funny,
well i got a phone call last night from a sweet little old lady who saw my flyer at her church.
she tells me "im at my wits end, and i dont know what to do" i asked her what the problem was and she went on to explain how her neighbor is forever more having bookstudies and holding field service meetings next door.
her neighbor is a jw and is most likely an elder.
me thinks I would have them towed.
that would get the point across. I think it is pretty funny...having them picket from the lady's lawn hahah. I guess there shouldn't be any real issues with it since it is her private property.

i just got one and i learn a few chords, but im having trouble switching between them fast and my fingers hurt a little, when can i start getting caluses and should i rest my fingers?
just make sure you practice a bit every day...your fingers will get used to it...it is well worth the soreness in the beginning.
I play (not well enough for the public, but enough to have fun), and I find that if I switch between acustic and electric, my hands and fingers don't get as cramped as when I just play one all the time. don't know if any of you have this issue.
Also,...here is some fun: get guitar tracks by cakewalk software...plug the guitar rght in the computer and have some fun laying down tracks and adding drums beats..etc...it is fun if you have the time. I got music creator also by cakewalk a while ago...haven't had time to play around with it, but hopefully will this summer.
Playing guitar is a great way to unwind. I helped me from going out of my mind when I was in high school, and I still like to play to decompress when my little minions get out of control.

Besides the Keane pictures, it looks like the rest are right out of the Great Teacher book. I am surprised the site hasn't been shut down for copywrite violation by the goons in Brooklyn.
The Keane pictures are interesting....I knew a witness that said she was her mother. Her maiden matched and everything..I never had any reason to not believe her...but you never know.

since neil and i are a little on the tight side financially lately, we've taken to renting movies more often to entertain ourselves.
the other night we watched "riding giants" a documentary on surfing.
if you haven't watched it, it's a must see...even if you don't appreciate the sport you will after watching it.
"Harold & Maude" A great movie...cannot tell you how many times I have watched it.
We tend to go thru the $5.50 bin at Walmart every few weeks to find something to watch. I hate renting movies, because you have to bring them back haah. I stopped going to blockbuster years ago because I alwasy racked up the late fees...I guess that doesn't matter any more...but I don't go to the library that much either becuase if I read a book and like it I wanted to keep it...so I bring it back late, pay the fines, then go to half price books and buy it. So now I just skip the library and buy books, used when I can.
So I guess I suffere from book and video seperation anxiety hahah.
The Cutting edge is a good movie...I am not a big ice skating fan but i twas awesomIfe.
If you like surf movies, Blue Crush is pretty good. I do like surf movies. My brother used to surf year round in NH. I have never tried it, but if I can ever lose some weight and learn to swim better I will try some day.
I love watching documentaries on tv about the ocean too. There are usually some good ones on the Discovery channel.
If you like shakespeare, I would rent Taming of the Shrew with Richard Burton and Liz Taylor...also, Frank Zafferelli's Romeo & Juliet with Olivia Hussey. I think that is the best movie version of the play.
Also, an awesome tv series on dvd is Dead Like Me. Have you ever watched it? I have the first season on dvd if you want to borrow it Andi. It lasted only 2 seasons, but is an AWESOME show.
ok, i've been living with hiv for the past four years.
it's been very tough.
i've seen the signs in a foot infection, lumps on my tongue, having to get moles removed because they were spreading and getting larger, two years ago i caught the cold twice in the same year, feeling my lymphatic system working overload, to name but a few.
I am child #7 of 11 children. You can imagine some of the crazy things we did as kids to get some individual attention. Well, I discoved at an early age that when I was sick that my mom, being the wonderful tender person that she is, gave the sickee a LOT of extra attention. Granted, I was sick a lot genuinely as a child, but oh did I live it up. When I was about 10 my mom told me that I had a terminal case of Hypercondryisis. I was thrilled....oh the attention I would receive! She smiled, and then explained that it meant I was a hypercondriac. Then explained what THAT was...ohhhh the jig was up, it seemed!
She gave me a big hug, and told me to knock it off. Luckily, that didn't last through adulthood. If I am sick, I do take it a little easy...I can do that now because I work from home. So I can return email and phone calls with pjs and bare feet, and take naps if needed. It does make me sad when adults still continue it. Sometimes I think there are some that believe so much that they are sick that it actually MAKES them sick. My husband is the exact opposite of a hypercondriac...if he is sick he just shrugs it off. There has been at least 2 occaisions I have had to bring him to the ER to get IV fluids because he didn't think he was that sick....
i got to thinking about this, and how many are here without telling anyone.. my active wife does not know i post here.
also, i have met some wonderful local people who are here, and you know who you are.. those who i met, i regard as friends, and very supportive.
given our backgrounds we understand each other.. is this a double life?
I feel for you guys. I am glad this site is here...and I am so glad I never ended up marrying "in the truth"; I don't know if I would be able to leave like many of you have. I have respect for all of you for that!

i haven't checked it out in a while...since the only meeting i ever saw planned on that site was canceled.
anyhoo, i got an email from meetup.com talking about people becoming organizers for their meet up group.
I can understand them going fee based: when there is some monetary value attached to it, sometimes people will take it more serious. And if an organizer kicks in some money, they are probably going to be a lot more proactive about getting people to the meetings, etc.
I think 19 bucks a month is a bit too steep though, I really do. They are much more expensive than classmates.com. I haven't gone to the paid membership just yet, but probably will in the next year or so, since my 20th year reunion will be in 2009. I would love to catch up with some of my old high school buds.
Anyhoo....glad to see I am not alone in feeling this way.

So I go to the group...I guess now someone has to pay $19 a MONTH!!!! in order to have the old meet up service.
Hey, I can understand a fee...but $19 a month? Now if we got tshirts, frisbies and bumpstickers...hey that would be different. SHEESH!
Makes me appreciate this board all the more.
