  Would you allow your children to see the Passion? What age?

  after reading megadudes review of what he thought of the movie, i really want to see it now.. gore doesn't really bother me in movies, like braveheart, saving private ryan etc.

  i hate the slasher movies for the sake of gore thou.. i guess i am the type of person that is so curious about everything, that even if it is gorey, i would want to know what jesus went thru, as painful as it may be to watch.. but should you let your children see it........ since i havent seen it , i was wondering for those who have seen it,,,,,,,,would you let your kids see it?.

  what age,,do you think is appropriate ?

  I watched the Gladiator, Saving Private Ryan and a few other violent movies with my son. He is 13, and I we do occaisionally take him to an R movie...depending on what it is.

  Slasher films I am not a big fan of, but I feel he is mature enough for most movies that do not have a lot of sex in them. I think it should be up to the childs maturity. I will see this movie, but will wait until it comes out on dvd.

  I really don't want to sit in the theater to watch the movie with a bunch of holy rollers...no offense to anyone, Jesus is important to many people, and apparantly Mel made a great film, but there are some people that view it is if it was written and directed by god himself. And with my luck, I would end up sitting next to one of those familys....noooooo thank you.

  okay people, time to guess what new releases they're going to have at the 2004 district convention.

  (btw, anyone know the "theme" of the convention for this year yet?).

  as much as if I hide a safe haven to come in and hide from the storm.

  I don't have anyone in my life right now that understands how crazy JWdom could get...expect for the relatives I have that ARE still JWs so I am not talking to them about it hahah.

  so, today i went looking for curtains and paint-colours for my new house.

  and we ( my mum and me) enter this store that i have visited years ago, and liked.

  yeah that would bug me too...I never really thought too much about that...really, if they wouldn't talk to you on the street, how dare they expect you to give them any business?

  good for you...that was very nice to make sure they weren't on commission...I would have felt bad for the sales peeps if they were too.

  I hope you added up the prices...take that with you with all the other info and say, hey this store would charge me this amount, would you be willing to give me a little discount if I bought it all here?

  Amateur Organized Crime (In the organization.)

  a memory was triggered in my head the other day that i hadn't thought about since i was an active jw.... in the early to mid nineties (i would have been about 14 or so) i remember a situation that was going on with someone i know (details cut to remain anonymous) and her jw friends.

  this person involved would have been about 17-18 and her "friends" or people she hung out with ranged from 16-21. they were a group of kids that went to meetings, in service, and were considered somewhat exemplary.

  most of them came from what were considered ?strong?

  when I was a teenager there was a group of so called good kids that were all having sex, doing drug, smoking yadda..yadda..yadda.

  I guess you could call in organised sinning..but they were just being teenagers...they were quite the butt holes though, treated me a the other actually good jw kids like dirt. And of course the parents did realize until everything hit the fan when somebody stumbled on a couple of them going at it hot and heavy

  ever since leaving the jws, i believe i've become much more intelligent.

  i now have to learn from my past mistakes rather than viewing my mistakes as a result of satan's influence.

  i now know how to prevent myself from making the same mistakes rather than repeating them due to ignoring the facts.

  less ignorant? yes

  making better decisions? yes, but it is different choices...I guess it depends on how you define what being intelligent means.

  my IQ is no higher than when I left, but I know a lot more about the world in general

  I Thought Mel Gibson Was Going To Be Jesus...

  whoooops!.

  i'd been getting all geared up to go and watch the passion of the christ (it's causing enormous waves of journalistic strife, so it has be interesting at the very least...), until i saw the trailer and realized that mel gibson is not, actually, playing jesus.. apparently he's "too old", a friend told me.. now, don't get me wrong, i'm not a massive mel gibson fan (although he was perfect for the role in what women want, i must admit), but i thought it would've been truly surreal and an interesting reflection on popular culture circa 2004 to see mel gibson pretending to be jesus.. other interesting tidbits have surfaced about this movie.

  monica bellucci (hope i spelled that right) of matrix: reloaded/revolutions fame is in it, which you might say is a truly powerful incentive to go watch the movie, but she may not be as fun in this role as she was in the matrix.
