i do love your couch. the futon is ok, but i think it'll be better once there's a coffee table to put your feet up on. still, curling up on your couch is pretty darn comfy!

Joanna and Eyegirl are the greatest people ever! EVER!
by Cygnus ini just got home from a 5 day stint with joanna, eyegirl, and no apologies as well as joanna's manwhore and it was by far the best vacation i ever had and i had the most fun humanly imaginable.
joanna is the best host ever and eyegirl is great to swap silly stories with, among other things.
;) a public thank you for having me and this is not an invitation for anyone else to swamp them with invitation requests because they do lead busy lives and they are mine mine, you hear me, mine all mine!

don't know what to tell you. the last memorial i went to was in 2000. meetings were the same up until about a month ago--i went to one (my dad was giving the talk on sunday). my best friend was game to go with me, bless her heart, and after sitting through the talk, i really couldn't stomach anymore. we were sitting there, wondering how we ever believed any of this. whatever you decide, i wish ya the best!

joannadandy convinced me to rent it last winter. i felt ok about it since my brother and his friends were supposed to stay over that night (they were up snowmobiling for the weekend). except that after we got done watching it, they called to say they weren't going to make it back that night. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!! i have to say it did scare the crap out of me.
has anyone else rented the original now out on dvd? they have some interesting stuff about the actual events the movie was based on. i think that's what scared me probably the most. it was creepy.............

Why I am leaving JWD
by logansrun ini'm leaving this forum...at least temporarily.
as i mentioned in conversation over dinner at the chicago apostafest, my upcoming school schedule (which begins next week) combined with my workload will make it very difficult to be an active member on this forum.
perhaps i'll check in occassionaly when life is a little slower but for now i'd better distance myself from the on-line scene or else the other elements in my life will suffer.

i think for some of us it's not necessarily anger (well maybe it is in to some degrees) as much as a frustration. no, my life as a witness was not 'all that bad'. however, my family life growing up would've been a hundred times better if we'd never been JW's. i don't think it's fair to tell me to "look for the good" in an organization that directly caused me to lose 15 years with my sister. you make a valid point that there are good witnesses and i firmly believe that. i agree that there are some who actually believe that what they think is right and they live their lives accordingly. the only good i draw from the WBTS is that we were raised well with good morals, but i have to believe that my parents would've raised us that way regardless.
by dwelling on the past and things that you cannot change, it makes it very hard to move on to the future. in the past few years, my mother has been famous for telling me that "my life isn't bad; it just didn't turn out the way i wanted." some days it takes alot of effort to fight that attitude, but it's well worth it.

Thank Someone...
by FMZ init can be anyone... on or off jwd, family, friends, a deity.
just think of someone that did something special for you, and thank them.
either post a note of your appreciation, or call the person and just say "thankyou for....." and let us know how it goes.

Alrighty then what do we have here? Two women in a bar with biker type shirts on. Perhaps a little too much to drink and the "I love you man" thing going on. XenaWarrior in the background about to kiss someone. And if I'm not mistaken the one in on the right is pinching something of the one on the left.
LOL, nice! actually, i'm the one on the right. just call me sasquatch girl. as far as having too much to drink, not yet at that part of the evening. it was still early and we were very sober. our "i love you"'s flow freely (usually from me when i'm drunk) most of the time regardless. xenawarrior wasn't there...........the peeps behind us were brave souls to get up and sing karaoke, but horrible at it, heehee. frankly, if my seester was pinching my boob, my bra is so padded i wouldn't notice anyway
