Is JanG still around? I'm a newbie here, but remember her from Tishie's board years ago.

Worst flatulence experience? Here is mine... Can you top it?
by What-A-Coincidence ini had been having bad gas for a few days...when i mean bad, i mean clear the room bad and call in hazmat, it was so bad my dog left the room crying.. anyway, i was at the mall and i had to let one go and a man passed by and he said, "dam, they must be repairing the sewage pipes.
" i said, yeah, huh.
i was having a bad day but i just had to laugh.

Thanks for the welcome nvrgnbk, it's good to be back. I can't believe I waited 8 years to get back online, but these past few weeks have reminded me how lucky I was to find a board similar to this all those years ago. The fact that we can have a heated debate on immigration reform alongside one on the desperate cries of an imprisoned turd reinforces my love affair with humanity.

Kind of Neat... for me at least.
by RichieRich inso its no surprise to most of the people here, but i stretch my earlobes.. and i just reached sort of a big milestone, for me i guess.. i made it to an inch.. that's 25 mm, for you crazy not americans stuck on the metric system.. and considering the original hole was exactly 1 mm in diameter, i just think its cool i increased the size by 25 times.. now if only i could stretch my bank account.. .

Very cool, RR. When are going to grace us with your presence in chat over at Thom's? I thought our last conversation about wood-wilting glasses of cold water with BB went fairly well. How's the job going?
richie you could do that thing with your neck next - where you place metal bangles around it - adding new ones given you an elongated neck
So, er....um...would this type of procedure work on any, uh, area of the body? Sorry for the wonders-of-erectile-tissue reference, but the flippin' chat room is a bit dead and my oh-so-subtle adult references have no where else to go. -

A friend of mine had recently returned from a deployment in Korea, and was raving about a dish he'd discovered while stationed there. The dish was called Yuk Hwae, meaning "raw beef". He'd obtained the preparation instructions and was intent on showing off his newly acquired international palate. He had some of us over to his mobile home tried to get us to eat some. Now, I like my steaks medium-rare, but please. So the chef was forced to eat it all by his lonesome.

How'd you pick your Avatar and/or Username? (Share a little bio?)
by Open mind ineven though you might think it's painfully obvious, explain why you chose your avatar and/or username.
it could help us faceless "netizens" get to know each other a little better.
open mind.

My avatar is me, at home on ten pristine acres in Wimberley, Texas. Life is good. My user name is the same as my email, which I chose a couple of years back when I was Crash/Fire/Rescue in the Marine Corps. The 451 is the temperature (fahrenheit) that paper burns, as all Bradbury fans will recognize.

WILDFIRE IS BACK IN THE SADDLE...
by wildfire inhi gang , its good to be back ...........i have gone through 2 years of captivity ,,i have been out of the jws since 2002, i moved to austin ,,texas in 2004.. i even had the priviledge of attending a true dallas apostofest, which i will never forget..met alot of great apostates..
but for 2years i have been in a tailspin..last april my 20yr old jehovah witness daughter got married in minnesota.
oh ya i was invited, only to the wedding which was not held in a kingdom hall (because of me iam sure)..my son who was never baptized came allthe way from florida to his little sisters wedding, only to be treated like he was da or df..we were not allowed at the reception and the only pictures i got were from my other daughter who (she was studying at the time so she was allowed to stay for all the festivities..) so me and my son decided to do what any out cast would do...went drinking and checking out the quaint little town that night...had a blast...they had not won ,,i was down but not out...haha

Hey wildfire, I'm also new here since you were on last, it appears. Sorry for your troubles, but you're in the right place. Everyone I've met here and at Thom's has been great, it's nice to relate to those who've been in similar places. So, as a fellow Austinite what's your take on the rumors Louis Black and assorted Chronicle-backers narced on non-SXSW parties and got them shut down during the festival?

Are you comfortable knowing, that what you write here will stay forever
by JH inlet it be this board or any other board, are you comfortable with the fact that whatever you post on the internet will be viewable for a long time.. maybe when you'll be very old, you'll find posts that you made a very long time ago..

I totally agree with free2think. I recently got back online and the first thing I did was check on the old board I used to post on (Tishie's). I found posts I'd written 8 friggin' years ago. It was wild. I felt like Marty Mcfly, viewing who I was 8 years ago. Very cool. Even better than my old High School yearbooks.

Books that SHOULD be movies?
by gaiagirl ini just finished reading "mammoth" by john varley.
a sci-fi thriller in which a mammoth is found frozen in northern alaska, along with the frozen bodies of a man and woman.
however, as they are uncovered, it is seen that the man is wearing a wristwatch.

Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. Start with Eye of the World and just keep makin'em
The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and
pass, leaving memories that become legend.
Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long
forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes
again.
