I've been a Giants fan since I was 7 years-old. When I was 11 I watched them beat Denver in Superbowl 21. 4 years later at 15 I watched them beat Buffalo in Superbowl 25. I had to wait 10 years to see them go to the show again, only to watch them get spanked 34-7 by Baltimore in Superbowl 35.
I've waited 7 long years to see them back where they belong, and I'm completely psyched! I live deep in Cowboys country so being a fan of a divisional rival hasn't been easy, yet my Cowboy-lovin' Giants-hatin' friends were screaming as loudly as I was last night. What an unbelievable performance, what an incredible finish to an amazing season. The Giants showed how much heart they have, how unrivaled their defense is, and finally shut up the Eli critics. I loved watching Peyton go nuts after Eli's impossible throw to Tyree, and again after his second game winning touchdown pass.
I'm going to stop now, though I could go on like this for days. Go Giants!!

And, of course, my favorite...
The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and

The Pats ARE beatable, especially by Big Blue.
Agreed. We had their number last time we played them, just shot ourselves in the %$#! foot. I'm extremely impressed with how Eli is holding up under the pressure, I knew he had it in him. I'm just sorry Shockey's not playing, he's my favorite player. I played tight end and linebacker in HS, so I like watching him kick ass.
Lonelysheep, Where do you live in Jersey? How long have you lived there? I lived in Philly and then Connecticut for 15 years, maybe we know some of the same people. -

I've been a Giants fan since I was 8 years-old. Since I've lived in Texas this has been very interesting given the huge Dallas fan base here, so you can imagine how wonderful last week and this week has been for me. I imagine if I wasn't a New York fan I'd actually like to see the Pats pull off a perfect season, but I am, so Go Giants!!

Austin's a great little city. I've lived in the area for a few years now. I worked on the west side of Austin until my current position wooed me away, now I live mid-way between Austin and San Antonio, in Canyon Lake. I still get up to Austin fairly regularly, I'm about 45 minutes away.
I'd recommend 6th street downtown, but not on the weekends unless you like fighting college crowds and paying high cover for watered down drinks. There's a great jazz/blues club called the Blue Elephant that I really enjoy. You might also consider one of the myriad B&B's in the area, if you feel like getting away from the city and seeing some of the hill country. The best mexican food can be found on the east side IMO, and you must check out the BBQ and steaks at the Salt Lick. PM me if you want more specific info. -

Crashfire451 'cause I've used it for so long. Crashfire is from my unit in the Corps: "Crash/Fire/Rescue". 451 is the temperature that paper burns, in Fahrenheit. My avatar is my futile attempt at looking cool in a cowboy hat - when in Rome.....

Welcome Cognac and Hypnotic! I hope you continue on your new-found path to freedom. I've been out for almost 10 years after being raised in, and I've never been happier. I don't post as regularly as I'd like, but always come back for more. This site has an amazing mix of people from all over the world, and dull moments are few and far between. Enjoy!
P.S. - I attended a congregation in Connecticut back in '89-'92. I know it's not Massachusetts, but everything's so close together up there maybe we have some mutual acquaintances. -

What is your name?
by averyniceguy ini cannot tell you my name because i am a fader.
i am starting this thread since low-key lysmith and momzcrazy were very surprised they are here on jwd on my thread about what congregations they have attended in their lifetime, so who knows we might be surprised for more online reunions.

I don't mind telling you my name, and don't see why anyone would want to call you out for asking. It's not as if by simply asking you're forcing anyone to reveal information they're not comfortable with. If someone wishes anonymity, they have it. What's with the tension around here lately? I've gathered some have been burned recently, and I'm sorry to hear it. However, I would think welcoming those that are teetering on the edge of making a life-changing, scary decision should remain paramount.

Believing Everything Someone Tells You
by minimus inare you the type of person that believes everything a person says?.
typically, my radar goes up, especially if a person either brags about all his or her accomplishments or tells you a sob story about how awful their life is.. i was reading here today about how some posters have been upset with others for either feeling someone is fraudulent or is uncaring or caring too much.. the funny thing is that most of us never really know who or what a person/poster is all about.
they could be perfectly upfront and tell you everything in a most truthful way or they could be conning you.

Very well put. I'd share more thoughts on the subject, however my internet startup was just purchased by Google and I've got the onerous task of picking out the options on my new Ferrari. It's important to match the trim to that of my yachts. I certainly don't want to seem gauche when my spread in GQ runs next month.
Alas, that I could enjoy my good fortune, but my great uncle grandaddy passed away a few minutes ago and it seems to be exacerbating my PTSD stemming, naturally, from the trauma of being carjacked yesterday while driving my Meals on Wheels van to the impoverished section of my gated community. Ah well, perhaps I can put all this behind me when I deploy this evening on my 8th super-secret mission to........
