State A Simple Opinion About JWD Members
by nicolaou inwe share a common past but have travelled many different roads to find each other here.
our outlooks and perceptions of reality are varied and often fascinating.
most of us are encouraging, funny, helpful and kind while others are still wrapped in bitterness and hatred or suffering from despair and privation.

I'm on facebook, but haven't done much with it. My myspace is more fleshed out, but only set it up for the guys I served with and maybe someone I knew back in the borg days. I rarely check it, but will if I start getting activity other than unbelievably smokin' women inexplicably wanting to be my friends.
Anyone who wants the info can PM me if desired, I'm not sure if it's on my profile. -

Very interesting, your uncle sounds like a great person. I lived in CT in the early '90s, in Southbury. I went to the Woodbury congregation, I wonder if we know any of the same people. I absolutely loved my time in New England and swear I'll be back. So much of my growing into the man I am today started up there, I think it'll always feel like home to me.
Msg me if you want to see if we have any mutual acquaintances. Hell, anybody who lived in the Landsdale, PA area or Cincy, OH area can Msg me too. -

Your Shun None Card?
by Hope4Others inmr hope not bob, ha ha.. hubby came up with the idea of a card to give people who do not speak, even though a person has not disassociated or engaged in any df conduct.. those who who simply "snub" you for lack of meeting attendance, inactivity etc.
a business card that has the wt website on the back and the front to say this as a gentle reminder.
to them as to what the org.

They are always welcome to return to the faith if they reject the improper course of conduct for which they were disfellowshipped.
Sure, if they don't mind a few years of humiliation.
Oh, and asking questions about society teachings won't get you yanked into a JC either. What a load of crap. -

If it wasn't for "....................." I'd still be in the "Truth".......
by ScoobySnax infor me i think if it wasn't for the fact i'm gay, i'd still be an active witness.
this year, even my mum has said that it wouldn't be "appropriate" if i was to go to the memorial.
now the memorial is something i've never missed, so that kind of stings a bit.

Guilt stemming from my success at seducing members of the fairer sex.
Oh, and Tishie's board, which opened my eyes to the lies I'd been fed my entire life, ironically relieving the very guilt that caused my departure. -

Who would be interested in a JWD book club?
by TheSilence ini've been thinking about organizing a jwd book club.
would anyone be interested?
everyone could throw out suggestions of books and i could pick one at random for each read.. i was thinking a book every 2 weeks, but i know a lot of people have kids and obligations so maybe every month would be better?

I'd be very interested, reading by the fire with a good cognac at hand is a passion of mine. Unfortunately, everyone would first need to read all of Dean Koontz, Robert Jordan, Ayn Rand, and Kant first. Kant's a bitch to get through, but the others are just really fun reads.

Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long
forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes

So how bad is the male STD test???
by bluesbreaker59 ini'm going in for a routine checkup at the behest of my partner.
she was shocked i've never been tested, and i said well i have no symptoms, i wear condoms, and had very few partners, so i didn't think it was necessary.
really how bad is the "q tip"???

Ouch. As a recruit in boot camp we were all shown the tape about STD's and their effects on our nether regions. Naturally, this collection of pictures and videos portrayed many worst-case scenarios. Yuck. Immediately following this presentation, volunteers were requested to be tested regularly for the duration of our military careers. I was one of the volunteers and didn't find out what I'd signed up for until arriving at my first duty station. For the next four years, I had my 'bore punched' on a monthly basis.
It hurts. Not excruciatingly, but extremely uncomfortably. That particular orifice is most definitely designed for exit only. You'll be fine, it's just not something you'll want to do again. -

"My god I just noticed he is from Texas it all makes sence (sic) know (sic)."
Me thinks those that live in Oklahoma houses shouldn't hurl grammatical insults.
