I don't know about de-centralization!
The society is craftier than that. They like to lay the blame at the local level when things go wrong but their central 'mind control' has got even greater in recent years. Just look at how regimented the shorten instruction talks and public talks are. The Watchtower study has no room for any individual thought - all the scriptures to be read are specified. Another classic example, of Watchtower 'double speak' is the matter of blood transfusions. Publicly, it is an individual conscience matter between a person and his God. But we all know that internal to the congregation this is not the case; it is a breach of Watchtower rules.
If a co-ordinator is as it says, a co-ordinator, then the responsibility will be to co-ordinate the following of Watchtower rules in the congregation.
This is not de-centralization but yet another example of increasing central control and paranoia.

Though I don't go to any congregations meetings (ever), I do attend the assemblies out of respect for my wife who I know would feel uncomfortable having to be there on her own.
I must say I am not looking forward to this program - do they still say; "this was the best assembly ever"? -

It seems to me that in recent years meetings have become a joke.
The society have steadily chipped away at the opportunities for any individuality by carefully crafting each meeting.
Questions for the service meeting item are all scripted, the public talk reduced at 30 mins with instructions to closely follow the outline and the Watchtower study article clearly states which scriptures are to be read (the implication being the others are not important?).
The road to paradise is no longer a gift from God but a set of instructions from the governing body. -

I agree totally with FlyingHighNow. I stepped down as elder then just suddenly stopped going. I have always taken the line that I just couldn't cope mentally with the congregation and the meetings. In nearly 5 years, I have only had a couple of visits. There is no brotherly love or sense of community with the witnesses; just a spirit of guilt and pressure.

NOVEMBER 1 WATCHTOWER - DOES IT SAY THAT NON DUBS MAY BE SAVED?
by BluesBrother ina certain witness, kind of close to me,is insistent that this article confirms her conviction that the wt teaches that jehovah will judge hearts at the "end" and both j w's and non j w's may be saved ....i say that it teaches the opposite.
what do you think?
how do you read it?.

This is just another example of 'doublespeak' from the Watchtower 'thought police'.
Of course they speak vague ambiguous words to the outside world but the line they take internally will be totally different. Only Jehovah's Witnesses will be saved - that's how they keep control. -

The whole no further education is a farce. The bottom line id they don't want people who think for themselves - they want control over the R&F.

The Great Apostasy is months away?
by Hiddenwindow init's time for "the new song".. same as the old song...it will be a lie.. the teachings will surprise you and the word will be those that can't change and go with the program will be left behind.. it will be so fast it will make your head swim.. as always, jehovah/satan will dangle the carrot of promised knowledge...but you have to committ blindly first.
the knowledge and understanding will come later.
same promise; same lie.. the new teachings will be that humans were an abandoned experiment and the reason the nephilim mated with the women was to try to raise the intellect through the gene pool.. as in the days of noah, the nephilim are rising again.. they will teach you that god is a hoax, created by man.

I cannot understand reducing Public Talks to 30 mins, or removing Group Studies either
Neither can I. Nothing they do today seems to make sense to me, its all about uniformity and control. -

WHERE WERE YOU 7 YEARS AGO?
by Mary inguess i'll be the first one to do an (inevitable) thread about 9-11. hard to believe it's been 7 years already.
i was at work when one of my co-workers came up and told me that a plane had hit the world trade center.
i thought it was awful, but i figured it was a small single engine plane that maybe lost its way in the fog.

I was at work and remember just how hard it was to get on to websites such as foxnews. I guess 9/11 will stick with people just the same as the assignation of JFK, the shooting of John Lennon, the death of Elvis and man landing on the moon. Though they are sometime tragic, they form the landmarks of our lives.

He will go down as one of the worst presidents of recent years. I've always had feeling that GW is just a puppet and that the real power must be behind him somewhere. What a dork.
