to reassign group members
Sounds like a euphemism for eliminate
On a serious note though what we tend to ignore that is the fact that elders will be still be responsible looking after 'groups' of people. But I cannot see that this is going to be very successful, without the actual group study on a weekly basis the R&F will quickly lose that sense of belonging. It will be like trying to herd cats.

As witness, I found it really hard to convince most other JWs that there are always two sides to every argument. Elders in particularly have been conditioned to find this hard to understand.
I am sure Freddie Franz and the other GB members would tell a different story to Ray. What we, as reasonable people, have to do is to be able to, in an unbiased manner, is listen to both sides and draw our own conclusions.
I think we all know the Society's stand on Malawi, the 1914 generation, etc, etc. Then, we have read Ray Franz's side. We then draw our own conclusions.
The trouble with Society is that they refuse to defend or reason on their position on serious doctrinal matters and hide behind branding all questioning voices as apostate. -

I Met a Member of the Generation that will not Pass Away

If she was born in 1910 then she does not really count. She was 4 when the first war began an still only 8 when it ended.
If you take the Society's revised definition (though still not the rather confusing current definition) that the generation is those alive contemporary with events taking place in the world, we have had at least 4 or 5 generations since she was born. For example you could say:- Those world leaders of WWI - people who would have been at the time in the 40 years plus age braken
- The between the wars generation
- Those world leaders of WWII
- The baby boomer generation post WWII
- The modern generation born since the start of the computer age (I know computers were around before then but weren't pervasive as they are now)

I haven't been to a group study for the last 5 years but my wife is a regular attender. It was strange to have her in all evening last night.
What is interesting is that her 'personal' study time consisted of preparing for the new book study, the school and service meeting - all things she would have done anyway! -

Honestly, Would You Have Secretly Taken a Blood Transfusion?
by minimus inwhile i was an active jw elder, i wouldn't have up until that last year.
that's when i was totally mentally out, just going thru the technicalities.
i still respect other jw's viewpoints on their not accepting blood----although i think they are terribly misguided.

No, I would have died, and worse would have allowed my wife and kids to die.
I was never on the HLC but I have accompanied sisters to see doctors to explain the Society's blood policies.
Fortunately, my kids are grown and all have left the 'truth' but my wife is still in and I know that she would die rather than have whole blood. I have spoken with her about the fractions thing and how unclear/ridiculous the Society's current policy is but she still does not get the point. -

What did you not do because of attending the Tuesday night group?
by eyeslice inas a loyal witness i would never have done anything on a tuesday night except attend the group study.. when i was at school it was a definate no to after school activities on a tuesday (though it was much the same for other nights of the week as well).
then i would never go to any night classes on a tuesday, which somewhat limits access to higher education.
never stayed in to watch tv no matter what was on..

Seriously, like many others, I don't think my wife will do much if any personal study. Perhaps, William Barclay's commentaries on John are a possibility.
