  Bible Dramas - they really have no idea

  it seems the watchtower are ploughing ahead with bigger and better film studios but come on, they really have no idea.. how come all the people in times past look like healthy, middle class americans/ europeans/australians in costume?

  get real.

  even a visit to rural india today would give a hint of how people probably lived back then.

  It seems the Watchtower are ploughing ahead with bigger and better film studios but come on, they really have no idea.

  How come all the people in times past look like healthy, middle class Americans/ Europeans/Australians in costume? Get real. Even a visit to rural India today would give a hint of how people probably lived back then. People in the main were dirty. Many were disabled or diseased. Women had a high chance of dying in child birth and half of all kids died before their 5th birthday. They lived in poor quality houses with their animals. Life was tough.

  But in WT videos they are all bright-eyed, clean and speak with animated American accents.

  Watchtower Museums

  now covid restrictions are over, they're pushing on with watchtower museums at many locations through out the world.. looks to me as if they'll be pretty boring.

  a few old bibles and photos of the witnessing work from way back when.. one things for sure is they won't include anything relating to constantly changing doctrines or have libraries full of old publications that have since been swept under the carpet..

  Yes, I'm pretty sure they won't have an 'old light' section.

  Given the high-level of control exerted by the Watchtower, they have a centralized museum office that vets all the plans and content for the planned museums throughout the world. I doubt if anything dubious is going to skip through the net, like a section on 'Miracle Wheat's or Rutherford's mansion and cars.

  No one, except the GB and Bethel heavies, who are far too busy to go house-to-house of course.

  I didn't realise that now there is no one on the GB with children.

  Funny as well how Jehovah seems to love mainly white men who speak English. There is just one token Black American on the body, the rest being white to the sore. For a religion that claims a presence in over 200 lands it is strange there are no Japanese, Asians, Black Africans, Indigenous Americans or Polynesians amongst 'God's special one'.

  Quote "with the new hour requirements for pioneers, many us us can share in the pioneer work." Let's read between the lines on that. Many of us can but some can't; I wonder how many of the GB have signed up? Surely if they had all done so it would have been stated - they love blowing their own trumpets.

  New GB Members Interview

  Many years ago when I was in the 'faithful and discreet slave' class was the remaining ones, men and women, of the heavenly class, who by their Christian works and ministry, imitated Christ's example. All pretty low key.

  Now they are all a set of media stars.

  Cook's introduction; "we'd like to spend a few minutes together, so you can get to know them".

  So, it turns out that they are both 'born ins', life time Bethelites - unlike the outgoing Anthony Morris who had at least seen something of the world and the horrors of wars.

  Winder was baptised in 1986.

  Fleegle didn't mention his baptism date but did state both of his parents were living examples of faith.

  The interview asked a number of standard questions, what motivated you, what departments have you served in, etc?

  Given the millions of Christians who have lived before us, many of whom died as martyrs, why do you think Jesus called you? (Actually, there was next to no mention of Christ Jesus, I think even the GB forget that it was Jesus who made the promise of ruling as Kings not Jehovah.)
  
  Brother Cooke said "you were appointed to serve on the GB". Who exactly does the appointing? Is it Jehovah, in which case did you just walk into a GB meeting day one day and say "I am here, I have been appointed by Jehovah"? Or was it the GB itself who at the time included the now banished Anthony Morris?

  single shooter on the run, police doesn't rule out more shooters.

  I think this just goes to show there are dangerous idiots everywhere in the world.

  It is horrific that this happens to any group of people. Jews, Muslims, Christians and even teenage girls attending an Ariana Grande concert have been the target of such senseless attacks.

  It maybe that some now choose to stay at home on Zoom rather than attend the KH but even then people are gunned down in shopping malls and on the streets. As with many things in life you have to assess the risk and decide on your strategy.

  So, let's just summarise here. There have been well over 400 posts against this topic but only one fact.

  The only fact we know is the very short announcement 'Brother Anthony Morris III is no longer serving as a member of the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses.'

  Speculation, not known facts at this point;

  1. He was pushed out. No evidence.
  2. He'd had enough and so just stood down. No evidence.
  3. He's an alcoholic. Yes, he was seen purchasing whisky but why we don't know and to simply imply he is an alcoholic wouldn't stand up in a court of law.
  4. He's ill. No evidence for that. Even if he were to die in the next few months, this in itself wouldn't make this the reason he stood down/was removed.
  5. He's a lose cannon on the GB. No proof of that. No flies on the wall here I guess.
  6. He's an apostate. No facts one way or the other.
  7. There is pressure on him because of some involvement with CSA cases, i.e. in covering them up. No evidence to my knowledge, certainly it doesn't appear he has been named in any specific cases against the Watchtower Society.

  So, we are in the totally in the dark and all we are left with is the brief announcement. Maybe things will be so hushed up by those at the top that we will never find out.

  Many here, myself included, don't have time for the guy but that in itself doesn't make any of speculation above any more factual.

  "Mankind's Search for God" book

  this book was published around 1990, but was never studied (to my knowledge).

  does anyone know the reason why?.

  I have just checked jw.org and see that the Mankind's Search for God book is still in their online library.

  It has chapters on many of the world's larger religions and also deals with the Reformation.

  What is interesting is that all of the paragraphs do have 'study' questions, but like most here, I can't recall it ever being studied at the group level.

  a study, reviewed yesterday by an english medical commentator, dr john campbell, says, no!.

  I sort of agree and would add that there was no science behind the 2metre/6ft social distancing rule. It has been since found that airborne viruses if sneezed out can travel far further than that.

  Still if I am in supermarket queue and someone behind me has COVID then I would prefer they wore a meal and kept their distance.

  The mask and distancing things were at least signals to be careful during the early stages of this devastating epidemic.
