a couple of my old witness girlfriends came over last night (note-i only recently left the org.

like 2 months ago, so people are still trying to get me to come back and "reason" with me)...and they used that stupid "counterfeit money" illustration.

i swear, every time i tell people i don't think it's the truth, they put that old illustration on me!

jgnat...WOW-I never even realized it till now- they may very well get rid of the blood doctrine-that would be the CRAZIEST thing I've ever seen-who's to say if it'll happen in my lifetime? (I'm 21)-not sure, but if they change it, then of course it would be "new light."

You're blowing my mind- to even think that they would EVER discard it entirely I've never thought about, but you made me think about it. thanks. Obviously, if they discarded it, then it should be obvious to anyone it's not the truth cuz a true God wouldn't let people just ho-hum die years ago due to the blood doctrine and then if things changed and you can accept blood or whatver now God would be okay with people accepting blood.

That's seriously scary! Yikes. Never EVER heard that before. Sure you're telling the truth? sorry...i don't want to offend you-it's just seems so hard to believe! I've been a witness my whole LIFE and never heard that! (21 years)....well, ex-witness now.

I hate that useless video. As a former JW now, it totally offends me. It's clearly fake because of all the points that were already stated previously. It's one thing to call JWs on their actual faults-it's another thing to completely put a fake video about them on the internet just to generate hate towards them.

Actually, my congregation was really reallly big- about 150 on a Sunday. But it didn't shrink or expand drastically, pretty much stayed the same.

YES! The whole "using illustrations" thing is ANOTHER mind control thing....Illustrations were extremely extremely powerful to me when I believed it was the Truth. But the thing with illustrations is that they're not bad in and of themselves, but to use them as frequently as the Witnesses do is NOT good because and illustration is just something that is a way of wording something that is an OPINION. They are not based in actual Facts and INFORMATION....Dangerous thing-them illustrations!

Do you know it? It goes like this..."You don't have to study all the counterfeit money to recognize the real thing. Just study the real dollar bill and you won't HAVE to study the others."

That logic ALWASY bothered me cuz it AUTOMATICALLY cuts off any investigation into other religions by basically saying they're ALL counterfeit! So...I think that's a way of using mind control is that stupid illustration that already writes off all other religions FOR you so that you're basicallly already told theyr'e ..."counterfeit."

Assembly talks-WHy did they talk so loud at the end!?

whenever i would go to conventions, i thought it was weird how at the end of the brothers' talks (especially the older ones like from the governing body or whatever), they would start getting louder and louder and louder.

ie; "in this time of the end, we need to keep on the watch for our adversary satan is roaring about like a lion!!!!

do you agree??".

Whenever I would go to conventions, I thought it was weird how at the end of the brothers' talks (especially the older ones like from the Governing Body or whatever), they would start getting LOUDER AND LOUDER AND LOUDER.

ie; "in this time of the end, we need to KEEP ON THE WATCH FOR OUR ADVERSARY SATAN IS ROARING ABOUT LIKE A LION!!!! DO YOU AGREE??"

and then the audience would be forced to clap. I can't remember how many times at a convention the audience would have to show we "agree" with something by clapping on cue. It's okay once in a awhile, but not like 5 times a convention.

But, yeah the whole getting louder and louder at the end of their talks was always annoying and seemed like a technique you use on a child who has his hand in the cookie jar "You'd better not take that cookie or you'll be IN VERY BIG TROUBLE."

Service was so freaky sometimes. The whole like "return visit" thing was fine if someone was actually interested and invited you to come back, but a lot of times, we would come back and *guess what!* the person had this kind of bewildered and confused look on their face, like "Uh,,,,do I know you?" I remember a pioneer sister giving me her return visits because I didn't have any and she was like, "Oh, here's so and so's and so and so's...I went to this one about 3 months ago, haven't gone back since." I'm like, "Uhhhh don't you think they'll think it's weird that we're coming back after 3 MONTHS!? And we know their NAMESS!??"

I was out with this elder one morning and we came to the door and some guy answered and the elder said he had previously come and discussed the Bible with that guy's friend who lived there or whatever. And the guy who answered was like, "Oh, hmm...I don't think I"ve met you before though-but you know my friend's name and stuff?" Or whatever he said.

The sisters I went out with said that you could go back on people who .... "Even just SMILE at you,"....SO, what, I"m gonna go back and be like "Hi, I'm not sure if you remember me, but we had a good conversation and you said you weren't interested, but you smiled at me, so...here's a scripture."

I'm obviously being sarcastic, but...the whole return visit thing always freaked me out. And, when we arrived on Saturday mornings when there'd be like 3 CAR GROUPS all on one street and EVERYONE gets out and starts preaching-it's seriously like 12 people congregated on one street! The neighbors should amply be freaked out.
