by sinis injust got my first tattoo - very large celtic cross across my whole forearm, and have also been smoking cigs, and cigars, on and off (social) - damn i feel great!!!
i was hoping that on the way back from the tat parlor a jw would spot me with a cig and a tated arm hanging out the window :) .
my jw wife isn't happy but i think she is turning ever so slowly - sort of "lukewarm".

Lol "Hello-I'm not Jewish!"
WEll, congratulations-I would personally never get a tattoo, but good for you if you're into that thing. I'm scared of people with tatoos.

When you were in field service....
by lavendar indid you ever have anyone, at the door, say something to you that created a seed of doubt in your mind about the wts?
something at all that started you thinking "maybe i'm really not in the truth".
i would be interested in hearing about that.. thanks,.

That always bugged me, too when I was out with others in field service, and they would go, "Well, we're not trying to convert you etc etc." Could anything have been farther from the Truth? No-the answer is no. Our primary reason and ultimate goal in going door to door was to make us some gosh-derned Jee-hovahs Witnesses out of dem worldly folk. Yee-haw pardner.

This is how messed up it was...
by themonster123 ini've just been thinking about jwd and how messed it up it is how the witnesses twisted things in my mind so i totally got mind-warped....what am i talking about, you ask?
well, whenever someone has a quote on here from watchtower literature from years past (like from the 1970s or 1960s etc) proving that witnesses have taught/do teach this or that in the past, i automatically discredit that quote necause how i was taught as a witness was that whole new light thing-meaning...... "oh, well, things have changed-our teachings have changed, we no longer believe or teach this, this, and that anymore,"- i'm so brainwashed that when i read old quotes on here where people prove to say that witnesses taught this or that, it's like i kind of go "oh well that quote doesnt' matter," but in reality.......... jws should take responsibility for everything they've taught!!!
and not just keep saying, "well, that was then-this is now.. ...i mean, from an outsider's view point, they would say "oh, so witnesses teach this?

You all are good- I like this forum.
Here are some more:Jane: "Oh, my cousin's coming down for the weekend."
Joe: "OH cool, is he in the Truth?"
Okay, now that I'm out of the Truth (lol), i friekin' HATE that Witnesses call it "the truth." Whenever I was in the Truth (lol, I'm just gonna keep saying it...), it always bothered me in my head b/c what if it's *dum* *dum* *dum* NOT "The Truth?" by calling it the truth 24/7, it presupposes that it IS the Truth, so it's another mind-control thing. THey tell you what it is ("the truth") before you even have a chance to think if it IS The truth or not! Ah!!!
Okay, getting off topic, here are some more...
wholesome recreation. kingdom hall. yeah, "meetings." "sister/brother." Great cloud of Witnesses. Narrow road vs. Broad and spacious road.
also..
"Demons" not ghosts. "kingdom hall" not church "meetings" not services. And..."Service" means field service, not church services-lol. "Jehovah or God" never Lord.

JWs should take responsibility for everything they've taught!!! and not just keep saying, "Well, that was then-this is now.
...I mean, from an outsider's view point, they would say "Oh, so WItnesses teach this?" if they're looking at a quote from, say, 1982, but me, the Witness (ex-witness, but...whatever), I kind of say, "Oh, this quote is from 1982 so it's okay that Witnesses said this or that back then because now, well, things have....changed."
What bologna. An organization should be responsible for everything t hey've said, not just "recent" stuff.
Does anyoneknow what I"m talking about or am I just using too many words? Blaaahhhh

They question/analyze everything- except the Watchtower
by OnTheWayOut inmany of you were probably the type to question everything or analyze everything, yet .
just accept whatever the wts says.
you broke out of that.

well, i used to question everything I was learning when I was studying to get baptized (at 15, about 6 years ago)...(I grew up in it by the way)..., but I always was satisfied with a scripture here and/or there. ie; MY question would be like "how come there are only 6 million JWs?" Well, "The path leading to everlasting life is narrow and cramped. the one leading off into death is broad and spacious."
But, after a while, I realized I wasnt' understanding the Bible in its full context-and even if I did "understand" it in full context, i would still only understand it in a Jehovah's Witness context! So....I started to wonder with this thing called the Bible- how can there be one book-but everyone's interpretation the world over is so different? Maybe...*mine* was ...*wrong?* Then, I started to doubt the Bible itself.
Other than that, i had so many questions (all of which I asked and got answered for the time being), but after a while, I tired MYSELF out asking so many questions and my brother and others would tell me," You have to stop looking at the details, you have to start looking at the big picture-where is this world heading? You can see it's getting worse and worse," so I was told that, so I belived it. AFter a while, i just accepted what I believed to be true and ignored the things that bothered me.
But we all wake up one day. And I finally have.

Science creating future Jehovah's Witlesses?
by Brother Apostate innow scientists create a sheep that's 15% humanby claudia joseph - more by this author last updated at 21:26pm on 24th march 2007. scientists have created the world's first human-sheep chimera - which has the body of a sheep and half-human organs.
the sheep have 15 per cent human cells and 85 per cent animal cells - and their evolution brings the prospect of animal organs being transplanted into humans one step closer.
professor esmail zanjani, of the university of nevada, has spent seven years and 5million perfecting the technique, which involves injecting adult human cells into a sheep's foetus.

lol! ....Seriously, though, I always thought it was weird that we were supposed to be sheep-how much more cult-like can you get? Aren't sheep, like, known for being dumb-and following each other off a cliff if one of them leads them to it.... Maybe WTBTS are playing a joke on us-calling us sheep, seeing how many will catch on.

Adam's Error and the Butterfly Effect
by jgnat inin 1962 meterologist lorenz simulated weather patterns with some simple mathematical formulas on his computer.
for a while the results were predictable.
but then, with very minor changes, the results went wildly erratic.

The whole Adam "cake pan" illustration and the domino effect on us seemed so dumb- I could NEVER get that through my head. Witnesses would always tell me "Well, it's like if you drop a cake pan and it's dented-then every single cake you make after that is going to have the dent."....NO! WE ARE NOT CAKES! I could never buy the whole Adam sinned and thus every man after him sinned....that doesn't seem fair. But neither do the other rules in the Old Testament about how whatever a father does will be on his son's head-. You should be accountable for what YOU do and not what your father does.... Is God really that unjust to punish every person after b/c of what Adam did? (If the Adam story is even true).
If you really think about the details of it, it's stupid reasoning that it was b/c of God's "justice" he has let all this crap go on for so many years. But...think about the details-if something terrible happened to you, like you were raped, or your family lived in a war zone and all your family was killed, you're going to just sit back and go, "Well, it's okay cuz it was cuz of God's justice 6,000 years ago that he's letting all this bad stuff happen to me just to prove his way is the only right way and man cannot govern himself?"
It's too "big-picture" when the big picture comes down to the little picture and the little picture shoots you in a drive-by.
