I Got Married

Help....any green thumbs out there?
by onlycurious inokay, i decided to bring my ficus tree, ivy/combo plant home with me from the office.
my daughter and i transplanted it and began to clean the leaves that were pretty dusty.. then, it happened.
i started to notice white circles at the stem of each leaf....sometimes 2 of them.. i believe they are mealy bugs.. does anyone here have any suggestions?

I dont have green fingers but i heard on local BBC radiostation the advice to remove leaves that appear infected. They said that circles on leaves was an infection that plants can get like a cold (just floats on the air and they catch it) and that the discoloration of the outside of the circle meant whether it was viral or bacterial infections. taking the infected leaves off reduces the infection spreading. but if its on most leaves i reackon it would kill it cuz it would no longer be able to photosynthasize (sp?)
I'd go and search a green fingered website though before hacking those leaves off
if you keep samples of the leaves and are a member of the royal horticultural society you can send the leaves to them and they send a report back telling you whats wrong - how mad is that? lmao

How did you dispose of your JW books? (Or did you?)
by exwitless inlittle drummer boy and i have a small house and we do not have room for the wasted space all of these books are creating.
here's a brief rundown of what we have:.
several nwt hardcover bibles, chinese bibles (lots of chinese students in our town), insight on the scriptures, concordances, a few bound volumes, song books, km books, reasoning books, the entire bible on audio tape, and more.

Can you recycle them? Rip/Hack/saw the hard covers off and stick the rest in the recycle bin?
I recycled all my w/t and awakes and kms and gav all the hard bound books to my mom. she now has both my bros and mine. shame really. i did ask for my bible back so i could compare it to some stuff on the web but i havent got it back yet

Why are angels always white?

Ive never noticed (probably because im white...) although I havent been to any conventions/assemblies or read any of their literature in a while i agree its true. mix of races on earth but not in heaven. spose its for the same reason that god is always depicted as white and all the annointed in heave/twelve elders. are any of the gb non white?

Happy
by bluebell ina post about shunning and how we didnt have to just accept it but could show that our door of unconditional love was open even if theirs was shut prompted me to e-mail an immediate family member who i had not seen since a grandparents funeral (i am not da/df but faded too quick and married to non dub).. just came back from coffee with them, and when they left they thanked me for suggesting that we meet up!
this person is a pioneer and maybe didnt feel comfortable suggesting it themselves?!
