oh, how many of us heard that we wouldn't make it to graduation or get married in this system?
i thought i wouldn't grow up.
no one talked about preparing for the future.

I think about all those that did take the advice of not advancing in their career, getting married, having children, etc. Now there are so many that are unhappy and lonely, and for what??
I'm glad that I was smart enough to continue in my education and to start a family. I couldn't imagine my life without my son!
i know the mormons go door to door and i have seen some church of god people occasionally.
who else has organized preaching ministries (door to door, etc.)?
i'm in an ongoing dialogue with relatives and this is one of their contentions - that the witnesses must have the truth (despite the many fallacies) because they are the only one that go door to door preaching.
There is a Baptist Church that has over 1000 members in my neighborhood and they usually come out to our subdivision at least once a year to give out brochures and invite us to join.
it was announced at the meeting last night that next week all should be in attendance at the service meeting as a special important letter will be read.
this is in addition to the letter about the district convention.
any idea what it's about?

maybe for the sole purpose of getting out of a marraige, who knows... i didn't think i was ever that bad, my kids say while there were moments that i was bad - he always "one upped me" - made my behavior justified.. in any case i am sure everyone here knows that jw's are a religious group of people that knock on your doors many days.
mostly on the weekends when your trying to sleep in or participate in some "indoor sports", lol... .
90% of the JW's are pretty solid folks with a screwwwy cult for a religion... the 10% who are out there are OUT THERE

Also, men are not the only ones that cheat. Woman do as well. From my experience there is always two sides to the story that can lead to adultry. For many it is the way to "buy your ticket" out of a unhappy marriage and to leave the org.
The best you can do for your self and your children is to let go of your anger and resentment and move on to make a happy life for you and your kids. If you allow yourself to hold on to the anger, you are allowing him to continue to hold power over you.
it's my first jwd birthday today and i just wanted to say a hug thank you to everyone on this board.. i am so glad i joined here, looking back over the last year i know i've come a long way.
i started out here knowing it wasnt the truth but not sure where to go or what to do.
throughout this year i've learnt so much about myself and feel i am finally being the person i want to be.

after an informal poll in my congregation (and many awkward responses) i found out that almost nobody had read the whole bible ever, not even the elders (surprise!).
brothers and sisters with 20, 30, 40 and 50 years as jws don't know what the bible says.
so, if god decides that a test is coming, will they pass it?
I had attempted it several times, but I mostly skimmed over it and then put it down. By the time I picked it back up I had already forgotten what I had previously read and had to start all over. I think I got at least past Gen 1:1 LOL....

i write all kinds of notes on my calendars, like when i should make my next oil change, my next dentist appointment, my cat's birthday, etc...lol.
