I remember that I prayed... Because I was told to do so!
Same here....
I was 13, and my best friend & I did it together. I remember asking what it meant to dedicate myself, and being told just to pray and give myself to Jehovah in prayer.

The two that came to mind happened in restaurants.
Me & my husband (who I was just dating at the time, after leaving my ex) were eating in a restaurant and a huge group of JW's, probably about 20 of them, came in and sat down. Some were from a neighboring cong & were waving at me. I was trying to be polite, and ignore them at the same time for thier sake since they evidently didn't know I was df'd at that point. One the of asshole elders on my JC was there and he spoke up saying, she's df'd don't talk to her. Then the whole table turned and looked my way. My now hubbie was so mad, that when we were leaving he walked by their table and screamed out "You fine Christians, have a nice day" and threw his hand up to them....hillarious!!
The other time, we were at a restaurant and saw some JW's so asked to be sitted at the other side of the restaurant, but that didn't stop one of the elders from walking by every so often and starring our way!!

I usally get in the hot tub and turn on the radio and just soak and relax. It's my "me" time where I can just close my eyes and think about things.

Wish me luck!! Having surgery in the morning...
by babygirl75 ini'm having a minor outpatient surgery in the morning in charlotte.
the hospital just called me and asked me how i felt about blood transfusions and if i had any religious beliefs that would hinder my medical care.
they still had listed from years and years ago, that i was a jw.

The hospital just called me and asked me how I felt about blood transfusions and if I had any religious beliefs that would hinder my medical care. They still had listed from years and years ago, that I was a JW. I made sure that that was removed from all files and that I was listed as no denomination. Why do I still shudder when someone ask me that after all these years??? I haven't told any of my JW family that I'm having the surgery. Don't want to hear about the blood, even though there shouldn't be any risk of needing it...

A first for me today--I voted!
by onesong ini'm not into politics and don't put much stock in the government having anything to do with my happiness, but i decided it would be a new experience and why not.. i have to admit it felt good.
seeing democracy in action was great and as small as my 1 little vote is, it feels empowering to have a say..

I really feel for you!! I went through the same thing with my husband before we got married. An ex-gf, who he had not seen in over 5yrs, started calling his mother's house leaving message after message about how she had made a mistake in treating him bad and causing him to break it off with her and how she would never be able to find someone like him again, and blah, blah, blah......
I was SOOOOO pissed! So I can relate to how you feel over this. I refused to let him respond to her and told him to just ignore it, we then got his mother's phone number changed. (that's the only # she had, she didn't have our home #) I did try to call her though and confront her, but when she answered the phone, she told me I had the wrong number! Yeah right, gutless B*tch!!!
I hope this all blows over for you pretty quickly...Just remember you have him and your precious child, not her!!

I've got great memories...I really think my parents raised my sisters & brother the best way the could. We always had get togethers or fish frys at our house. Every year us kids had parties where we all got gifts. Every summer, while out of school, there was always a group of us that would go to parks, go swimming, go to amusement parks, and spend weeks at the beach. Always had a blast! When I got older; my best friend & I were always together. She was 10 years older than me. I had graduated high school a year early and did not have to work, so we would pioneer together, which always consisted of stops at the mall or going out to eat & movies....What a blast we had!! I really miss those good times....
My BFF then ended up going off to Bethel with her husband. I would fly to NY every few months and stay with a great Greek Family in Brooklyn. What a blast they were!! They would always throw such great dance parties and have a house full of people. I'll always cherish those memories and staying in New York and all that we did...
Now I'm doing the best I can to make wonderful memories for my son...
