Jws basically ignore the scriptures; Matt. 25: 34-40 as opposed to Matt. 25:41-46. Preaching from door to door is not even mentioned . Jws say one thing and practice another.

What do JW's do to help the poor & needy at this time of year, or ever?
by Must obey! injust about every church i know of does something for the poor and needy around this time of year, who are not necessarily christians or members of their church.
from helping prisoners to delivering food hampers to visiting the lonely and elderly to helping poor people and children overseas, most churches i'm aware of do at least something to materially help the suffering in the community, home and abroad, regardless of their religious orientation.
many of these churches have programmes providing such assistance all year around, even many catholic churches.. but what do the jw's do to actually practically help the suffering and poor at this time of year, or ever?

Upcoming Elders Schooling
by Questions1 init's no secret that the "organization" has increased it's cia, national security clerance only super-secret attitude in regards to the elder school that is going to be conducted soon.
a few days ago, i had a conversation with an elder who has been in the fold all of his life practically.
in keeping with the conversation style of jws, the gentleman told me that nobody knows what exactly will be taught at the meetings, but in his backdoor conversations with some brothers who seem to be tuned into the bethel's officially, unofficial, communications network, the elders are going to be taught "post-armageddon" teachings.

logic
I like the post armegeddon thing. If you get the elders all stirred up enough then they will stir up the sheeple. If the elders are gullible enough to be elders then always start with them first on the brainwashing then turn them loose on the rest. Can you imagine you are priviledged elders and you get this information that you are now planning on life after armegeddon. I can just see them now with all this jubilence. The gov. body can just sit back and relax and watch this all go down . Things are probably going to get very funny or very sad depending on your viewpoint.

Unexplained Mormon "miracles"...Unexplained JW "miracles"
by FormerMormon inok... lets get the ribbing aside.
our mormon "miracles" are more unexplainable than yours.... one of the many tools used by the morg to keep it's members active is the use of faith promoting stories involving apparent miracles... or the unexplainable.
there are unexplainable stories even in my own family.

I like the story about the bread . I guess it is okay to keep the found bread but not a lot of money. What if going to an assembly you needed a lot of money because the expense is bankrupting you and a bag of money fell out of a truck would it be o.k. to use it. ??
Those stories are made up because they are not logical.
This is a true story, the people are friends of mine.. Their little boy fell out of a 2nd story window but only received minor injuries, she attributed to an angel looking after him. She is a jw. That floored me , where do they get this from. It is like they ignore the scripture that says 'time and chance befall us all'
I think alot of jws or any one else for that matter , have the audacity to feel they are so special as to have an angel looking after them and not the rest of us.

Meetings are very children unfriendly
by Robert7 ini guess the parents can appreciate this one, and this is a very imporant issue since kids are a huge part of your lifel.... have you noticed that meetings are so not children friendly?
you are expected to keep you children, regardless of age, quiet for 2 hours.
the expectation is that they are as quiet as an adult.

logic
I have always thought that some type of bible class thing would have been great for the kids and would have given the parents a break. The society is either so ignorant about kids or in my opinion it is part of the method of brainwashing and so the kids really do not learn anything . If the kids had an atmosphere that made learning the bible fun then they would grow up with more appreciation. Most jw kids I know don't have a clue about what is in the bible. My wife did the fun thing with our kids and they had more knowledge of what the bible actually says.
It is a proven fact that kids don't learn to well under duress. Most of the kids I grew up with that went throught this kind of hell at the hall just left when they were old enough.
I am not saying that kids should not behave when it is appropriate, but why make a kids life a pain in the but for 5 hours a week or more.
My daughter is a devout jw, she seemed to fit into the lifestyle and was always easily influenced by others . My son has always said it was a bunch of crap and could not stand the authority angle of the society. My kids were like the opposite ends of a magnet.

The NORCO Jehovah's Witness Circut Assembly 2007 Expenses
by BBOARD injust wanted to share this with fellow jwd members.
i went to the norco circut assembly and these are the recent $ numbers quoted ... .
as of 4/14/2007 (the first of two circut assemblies) we had $10,260,22 (a surplus) .
-
logic
I have had several jws mention this to me on their own. They do not understand how if we own the bldg outright how these ridiculous numbers can be. I like the look in their eyes when I tell them that it is because there are too many foxes in the hen house. The society is worse than our government
The society wants more money than if you rented from someone in the buisness. It is the same with everything in the society. It cost more for the building committee to do the job than if you hired a contractor, they want more money form their literature, tapes, dvds, etc. than commercial products. Then with all this ill gotten money, they never seem to have any money for anything.
What ticks me off is most jws know there is something wrong but just keep putting up with the same old crap. At least my wife who is a jw diehard finally quit donating to this crap. I do see a twinkle of hope in her.

The real story: Is your congregation stagnant, dwindling or thriving?
by truthseeker inwith the 2007 service year stats out one could be forgiven for thinking that wt's problems are over, the child abuse settlement an itch in their bethel backside and the blood issue a minor annoyance.. if the truth were known, it is probably that more often than not, congregations are in decline, attendance is poor and few new recruits are not already jw family members.. so, if you know how your congregation is doing, if you have the pulse of your hall, let us know.. .
my congregation (which shall remain nameless).
dwindling attendance at all meetings (around 80%).

logic
Just a side note. A couple of years ago I thought the announced meeting attendance always seemed high compare to who I seen there, so I started counting myself, several times, to get as accurate count as possible, including those on the phone and those getting up and down, the count was always about 20 people off. I told my wife that either I can't count, the attendants can't count, or somebody is lying.

Calling all wood Deck Pro's
by restrangled ini have a deck, that initially was sealed by hand with a brush.
twice over and took me a month.......it's over 1000 square feet.
pressure treated pine.

logic
Clorox sells a product for outdoor cleaning, just spray it on and let set for a few minutes then use a large brush, broom etc. then was off. Never use a wire brush. This product works great on siding, concrete brick etc. I used it on the models in housing projects to keep them looking great.
The pressure treated lumber is claimed to last 100 years. You can use it for most anything. It makes great decking, but many people do not like the look because it has thousands of perforations in it from the process of pressure treating. I have removed some decks made of this and one was over 20 years old but the 2x6 lumber was still in very good shape, and no treatment had ever been done other than cleaning. I have removed fence posts several years old that were still in very good shape. You have to be carefull cutting or sanding this lumber because of the chemicals in it. The pressure treated lumber you buy in most lumber supplies is no. 2 which is not the best. You can order it in no. 1 which makes very good decking but very expensive.
I used to build many decks, arbors etc out of old growth redwood which last for a very long time but does need regular maintenance. It is now very hard to get old growth redwood, it is very expensive. The redwood you get now has been altered to grow very fast and therefore does not contain as much of the resin that made it resist rot and insects that it did.
The new composites are great but expensive. You also have to decrease the span of your floor joist as the product tends to sag .

I need a simplified explanation...
by XOCO intoday i had a sister do a bible study with me and i asked her if jesus really died on a torture stake instead of a cross and i showed her john 20:25 emphasizing hands with an s and nails with an s. what the sister had told me was "yes one nail though his hands and one nail though his feet" ok so now back to the emphasis of the s if that were the case why make hand and nail plural be written in the bible then?
-
logic
I have read thousands of pages of info on this subject. There are so many scenarios, that are possible with the placement of the hands. The one explanation that makes scince to me is that there was a stake, pole, etc. that remained at a certain location, the cross beam would be carried by the poor soul to be killed. The person would be attached to the cross beam and them hoisted up and placed onto the pole by some simple means. If you have ever installed a large post , etc. in a hole , you would not want to do so more that once especially with some one attached to it . But this is still just theory but it is my favorite theory . The thing about it is that the person could still be considered to be hung on a pole, stake as the greek work word indicates.

The bottom of the left front hoof is visible. If the leg is meant to be bent then then the bottom of hoof should not be visible. It appears that the left leg is bent the wrong direction. Drawing horses is difficult. I studied several books on horses and looked at thousands of photos before I could even get close. Then I asked my friends and relatives who have and were raised with horses to correct me. I was finally able to do a few believable pieces.
