Hello and welcome
Mathilde
i have been a disfellowshiped joho (what i call jehovah's witnesses now) for 7 years and i still find it hard every single day!
i have just recently reunited with 2 of my 4 sisters who have taken a stand just like myself!
i encourage anyone who is struggling with the decisoin to leave or not to leave, but beleive me and the countless others, it was the best decision of my life!!!
Hello and welcome
Mathilde
we have such an interesting group of people from around the world on this board.
it might be interesting to have a thread where you discuss a hobby, something interesting that happened in the past, somewhere you've been, etc.. not deep, dark confessions - just interesting stuff.. .
* i have travelled into all 48 american states that are not named alaska or hawaii.. * for the past few years, i have had a slight walking impairment due to a form of arthritis known as ankylosing spondylitis.
I´m a volunteer in Africa
I´m taking piano lessons (always wanted to,never had the chance...oh well, better late than never)
hi everybody, my name is julie, and this is my first post.. i'm a third generation jw, or at least i was until a two weeks ago, when i was announced as no longer a jw.
i'm really happy about that, ecstatic in fact, although i'd been a jw all my life, and i'm 37 now.
i could have disassociated like my friends, but i couldn't be bothered to play their chikdish game, so i let them do it for me.
Hello Julie
nice to have you here
yearbook 75 p.223-224 witness couple and their 6 day old cheryl, who needed blood.
"darell and rhoda correctly viewed blood transfusion as a violation of god's law, and thus oposed it.
they were concerned about the babies welfare, for everlasting life is only the prospect of those adhering to god's laws.
When my son needed a blood transfusion (heart operation) we let him have it.
We didn´t know if he wanted to be a JW later in his life and we wanted to give him the chance to choose.
We prayed a lot about it and we were ready to be killed in the great A for it-we found that the WT had so many dangerous and -in our opinion-strange doctrins, that we wouldn´t and couldn´t sacrifice our child on the alter of the watchtower.
We took him to a hospital far from our home town and didn´t tell anybody about it until one dag after he had the operation and the tubes were out.
Nobody came to see the child anyhow, my husband had been DF d, and it was a long journey to the hospital-so we were left in peace.
He´s a nice, healthy young man today, living a good life and he choose not to be a JW :-)
Yet, for many many years we were afraid for Jehovah´s revenge.

well, at least now they know what it feels like for me when they are out there in the big wide world-i tell myself they can take care of themselves but i m also not happy until the have returned home safely.. mike went on the camino 2 years ago-walking through spain on his own-i didn t like that at all.the youngest is planning to go and visit our family in new zealand and australia-good for him but i ll be happy when he is safe back home .. .

last week my brother's wife (he's a young elder) had their second baby, a little girl.
he was good enough to let me know by phone text message, which will be the last thing i ever hear from him unless they keep breeding.
yesterday i got an email from mum, which had on it this email exchange... apologise for what might feel like an intrusion into their privacy, but, you know..... ________________________________________________________________.
Sass-I´m so sorry to read this-it makes me very sad and very angry at the same time. How they can speak of love is a riddle to me.
Statistics show that there is a big chance that this beloved baby will leave the org.at some point. Then they´ll just turn off the "love" and start "suffering"
To me it´s like someone who deliberately hits himself on the fingers with a hammer and then blames the fingers for hurting.
Crazy people!
Wishing you all the best -
Mathilde
