It is over...

hey all, i know some of you know that a while back my gf and i were having troubles but then things got better, well they started getting worse again, so i decided it was best to end it.

so i did it today.

it was a little sad for me, but ultimately somewhat of a relief...

Ladonna: I am not a JW. I am a long time Ex. My screen name is meant to imply that I am faithful to God, rather than to an organization of men. But it is seldom understood that way. So I ought to change it.

Scully: So, just because I accept the Bible's definitions of what is right and wrong behavior for people to engage in, I am an "ignorant, judgemental, know-it-all, bigot"? The Bible tells us that sexual relationships outside of marriage are wrong. Why? One reason is because people often end up getting hurt by them. As evidence that this is the case, I will refer to the pain which WW admits she and her former lover are now both experiencing.

Are you aware that some people who are sexually attracted to children say exactly the same thing? Like various gay rights organizations, they even have their own organization to promote what they feel should be their right.

Now, I am not saying that homosexual acts are as wrong as child mollestation. The point I am making is that simply because a person has urges and desires to engage in certain kinds of behavior does not mean that God wants them to engage in that kind of behavior.

I wasn't asking for you to guess at the month and day so much as a year. If you really think Daniel's and Revelation's end time prophecies point to Christ Returning during Putin's watch, then I would guess you are saying sometime in the next 10 - 12 years, as few heads of state stay in power much longer than that. Or are you actually thinking much sooner and have a specific year in mind?

Andee,

WW did not seem to have "a broken heart" as you put it. She said she was only "a little sad" but actually more "relieved." So my initial comment to her was that now might be a good time to think about straightening out her life. I stand by that comment.

As I recall, Jesus said, "Your sins are forgiven." This would correspond to the kind and compassionate hugs you gave WW. But Jesus also said, "Go, and sin no more." Kindness and compassion are important. But so is righteousness.

I have a clue. Because I, like all people, sometimes get urges to do things that God says are not right. When I do I don't give into those desires. People can and do control themselves. That's the differece between people and animals. Well, between some people and animals anyway.

Of course you are the one who told me that you don't believe that any real standards for "right and wrong" exist. So, you just do whatever "feels right" to you. I'm sure I'll catch Hell for saying this, but I'd never hire a babysitter for my kids with those kind of "standards."

You are not really serious are you? What are you saying that Putin will soon take over the world, outlaw Christianity and then watch the skies open while Christ returns to take His chosen ones to heaven? Any predictions how long we have got?

I agree with you that Marxism has been counted out and if it comes back to conquer the world it will seem to fit as the head that appeared to have a fatal wound that got healed. But that's quite a stretch at this point. And even if you are right it could happen 30 or 40 years from now, not any time soon.

I would be interested to hear a more specific prediction though.

Were the Gospel Writers Really Eyewitnesses?

in defense of the inerrancy of the bible, many believers make the assertion that the gospel writers wrote about what they witnessed firsthand.

let's consider the case of the gospel called "mark.

" the writer of those jesus stories does not tell us he walked and talked with jesus, or that he witnessed any of the events he described, so why should we not believe that he was only reporting what someone else said happened, or perhaps what he thought should have happened to fulfill scripture?.

I've gotta agree with Accuracy here.

Joe says: "Jesus was completely alone as he prayed ... no one could have overhead his prayer."

Yet Joe says: "Mark believed ... Mark made sure ... Mark felt sure ... Mark wanted ... Mark manufactured ... The words of Jesus' Gethsemane prayer were put there by Mark, and are complete fiction."

Joe says Mark could not have known what Jesus was praying, but Joe says he knows everything that Mark was thinking. What a hypocrite! Find a new hobby Joe. As a Bible critic you stink.

the moody bible instititute wrote the watchtower society asking for a debate on the radio.

brooklyn sent them a list of 33 questions and stated that if they could not answer them, there was no use in debating.

Friday: So, the Society supposedly asked these 33 questions to Moody and they couldn't answer them. Kinda reminds me of you, Friday. How many times have people here asked you questions that you could not answer, so you just ignored their questions? Many times.

How do you know if you're going to heaven?

the only way to go to heaven is believing that jesus christ is god's son, and that he was sent here to earth to die on the cross for our sins.

if you confess him as lord and savior, then and only then, will you be certain that you are going to heaven.

You are kidding, aren't you?

You tell your kids what you, as their parent, require them to do. You even tell them you will give them, on top of everything else you already give them, a wonderful reward for doing as they are told. They then turn around and tell you that they don't care what you want them to do, and that they are going to do what ever "fells right" to themselves. But they tell you that they want that reward you were going to give them for obeying you anyway. And then you say, "OK, we will work something out."

If you really mean that, I sure hope you never have children. Because if you do, you are going to raise yourself a couple of serial killers.
