  My Mum's gone

  a few months ago i noticed that my mum had put her house up for sale, she doesn't live far from me and i had occasion to drive past her house.. well i've had a funny unsettled feeling all week, and i drove along the back of her house yesterday, and all the curtains were gone, she'd obviously left.

  feeling brave i drove round the front, and yes its empty, doesnt look like she's been gone long.

  i got out and went in the back garden, and looked through the windows.

  NEWBIE, WHEN WILL GUILTY FEELINGS GO AWAY?

  i have been in all my life, im a fader, father, elder, i was ms for 5 years, raising my 3 boys alone for 4 years , single, brought many people in jw, all of my family in, i know its fake, but i went to my sons game and when the anthem came on, i wouldnt put my hand on my heart, and then looked around to see if anyone saw me, when will these guilty feelings go away?.

  For me, it was when I read Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz. I was out 10 years before I read it, still believing I had walked away from "The Truth" and was doomed forever. That book was mind opening to say the least. For me, reading it made me realize that the so called "Truth" is actually just a big, fat LIE. Voila! No more fear or guilt for leaving. I wish I had known about it and read it much earlier.

  never one to blow her own trumpet (yeah right) i thought i'd come in and thank you all for three years of entertainment, life changing information, reunions with old friends and the making of so many new ones.. i'm glad i came here.. (wonders if what ip sec said on the trevor gate thread about this board being so nice three years ago was a dig at me....).

  seems to be backfiring but smiles from some onlookers....makes u wonder how it would look though if there was and orderly protest of 1000's of ex jws outnumbering those in attendance...now that wouldnt play out that well for the wtbts..

  Would You Condone Giving Birth Control To 11 Year Olds???

  in portland maine, all you have to do is see the nurse and you can get birth control pills.

  we're not talking about high school.

  Whether or not we think that 11 year olds should be having sex is irrelevent because they are. I think that in a perfect world children should be children and not mini grown-ups. I would rather see an 11 year old that is having sex be protected from pregnancy and disease than not. That being said, I, too, think it is a sad reality our world has become.

  Update on family reunion and other things

  ok, it's been awhile and i thought i'd tell you guys what happened about the family reunion situation.

  to rehash... i wrote a letter telling all the jw's in my family that i wasn't going to take any crap off them anymore, that i would embarass their dumba#* if they treated me badly in anyway at funerals and reunions and the like.

  i told them i was going to bring information about the idiot jw's to every family event and i was going to get in their faces if they chose to treat me badly cause i refuse to follow the fools at the wtbts.

  Good job! I agree with what you did. By writing that letter and sticking up for yourself as a person of worth, you take away some of the WTS's power over you and your family.

  I feel very sorry for the honest hearted JWs (most, IMHO) that sincerely believe it is the "truth" and are trying their hardest to live up to it. I don't hate them at all. I do hate their cruel, unloving, definitely not Christian policies/beliefs, ie. shunning, moral superiority, intolerance, etc.
