The only thing about my JW past that I am thankful for is that I got the hell out!

What about your JW past are you thankful for?
by nvrgnbk inin the interest of self-healing and finding the peace that comes from being grateful, can you think of anything at all that was positive about having been one of jehovah's witnesses?.
not to be misunderstood with missing something about it, is there something about the experience that has enriched you?.
to answer the question myself, being forced to face the fallacies of the teachings of jwism, i was also prompted to look past those teachings and reevaluate everything i believed in.. that experience was frightening and unsettling, but i'm thankful for it.. i now have a greater appreciation for life in all its wonder than i did when i took it for granted as one of jehovah's witnesses.. i'm more determined now to find meaning in this life, after having lived for so long for a future that was never to arrive..

poll for the ladies....
by sweetstuff ini noticed alot of polls of what the guys prefer..how about the ladies?
do you prefer blonde, redhead or dark?
how about height?

There's also something incredibly sexy about the rugged look.
I'm with you. Worker guys (road construction, carpenters, etc) in jeans and sh*tkickers are way more sexy than suits.

I like guys that have integrity, are taller than me (I'm 5'4"), can make me laugh, treat me nicely (and by nicely I mean with respect, not things).
I took a test once on a dating site that said I prefer 'teddy bears' and that is true. I like big guys. Nicely trimmed beards and moustaches are a plus.
John Doe and FA won't believe me, but money has never been a requirement. The love of my life was 5' 6", funny, stocky, dark haired, mustache and beard, harley rider, a mason (job).
He broke my heart.

Shower or bath?
by Quentin in.

Shower in the morning and bath at night. Nothing beats a leisurely bubble bath with music, book, candle, and glass of wine.

Have You Divorced And/Or Remarried- What Did You Learn From It ?
by flipper inin seeing a lot of posters threads , i feel i see many people who have been divorced at one time , and either have remarried or have stayed single .
i totally understand those who choose to stay single, as i was single for 6 years before i got married again !
as experts say, next to death it's one of the hardest experiences you'll go through !

I was married for 18 years. Have been separated, then divorced for 12. I learned the same things as Sweetstuff and A+W. Be true to yourself. Don't settle for less. One person trying their damnedest can't make a marriage work. Don't lose your self respect. Having the same values is extremely important. Bad boys are lethal for me. No man is ever going to hit me again. I need a little bit of alone time sometimes to rejuvenate. I don't need a man to make me happy.
I have the best boyfriend in the world. He is my best friend. We laugh all the time. He wants to get married, I don't. I will NEVER, EVER get married again. Once is more than enough.

Growing a Beard.
by Priest73 inso, why is it that we (xy chromosomes) feel obligated to grow beards once we leave the org?
i've had a little 'chin' beard for about the last 8 years, but every year in november i try to grow the whole thing out... but inevitably i fail miserably.
maybe my facial follicles are still jws.

LOL, Father. Ok, I won't.
