Our Kingdom Ministries
by Armageddon Dad ini am wondering if anyone knows if there is an assembly in ireland around the end of this year to beginning of next year?.
can anyone else also supply me "our kingdom ministry" for dates of assemblies in uk.. i'm not planning to cause trouble at these gatherings.
it's just that i have a court order which prevents my child from being taken to these things and i need evidence to stop the mother and stepfather forcing my child to go against his wishes.. the mother and stepfather don't tell him of course and keep it a secret right until the last minute.

Anyone getting snow?

Sometimes I really miss snow! I miss watching it fall. I miss the smell of the air just before it snows! I miss how quiet it makes everything!
But then I remember having to drive in it, having to shovel it, having to scrape it off my car, getting stuck in it, and how cold my feet always were and then the mess it makes in the spring!

I still am on paper though I haven't been to a meeting in I think two years ... family and JW friends still think I am active ... trying to break completely free.

oh minu ... I am only 5'3" too but I LOVE being short!!! I get to wear all the really cute really high heels!!
I would like new skin on my face ... thinking about laser resurfacing ... and I would like to have thinner ankles ... other than that, I'm just fine with the rest of me!

Consider this in relation to the child molestation issue...
by deaconbluez inone of the big faults that is credited to the watchtower is that if a person comes forward and says that they were molested, the elders require an eyewitness to the event.
obviously molesters don't do it where they can be seen, so the victim doesn't get justice.. .
but if the elders took action immediately on anyone accused of molestation, then false accusations with no evidence to support them could be made, forcing innocent people to be disciplined for something they didn't do.. your thoughts?.

Not really. If they tried to 'handle' the matter internally then perhaps. If they bought ALL accusations to the authorities and let THEM handle the matter with investigation and child psychologists, then the mater would be taken care of in the appropriate way. If everyone were worried about there not being a witness, then child molesters would NEVER get caught!

I absolutely still am interested in the wt summary!! I read it every week. However, since I have not been to a meeting in over a year, I can't really help in the process of gathering the material.
I greatly appreciate all the hard work that goes into the wt summary, and I truly hope it remains to be posted each week.

Testing what you believe
by mamochan13 ina news editorial i read this morning regarding protests/banning of the books golden compass from the his dark materials trilogy (soon to also be a movie) got me thinking about testing faith.
these books are apparently an answer to c.s.
lewis's chronicles of narnia, presenting an athiest perspective to lewis's "overtly christian" one.. as a jw i used to like the scripture about the boreans who daily tested their faith by "carefully examining the scriptures daily to see if these things were so" acts 17:11. in retrospect now, of course, i wonder how it is possible to take that attitude and still remain a blind follower, although apparently my borean-like approach freed me!.

I'm looking forward to seeing this movie and then perhaps reading the books. I just want to see what all the hype is about. I agree with you about testing your faith and I have always enjoyed the example of the boreans as well. Coming from the JW's where you are taught to be almost afraid of anything against your beliefs, I enjoy the feeling now that I welcome any and all information, wether it is in agreement or disagreement with my beliefs.

An update
by emilyblue insome of you may remember me from last spring/summer.
i was the one who kept begging her jw boyfriend to take her back after every breakup.
i came back in here the other night to read some of my past posts and replies, basically to keep myself from calling him.. i moved back to my home state this summer and am teaching here and spending tons of time with my family.

I remember you emily and your posts. You are a very smart girl. I'm happy to hear that you are getting close to moving on with you life, without this dead weight of a guy. He sounds like he loves to play mind games and he wants to break you down. He wants you to lose your will to be YOU and then he can have control. He wants to make you angry so you snap and then he can make you feel like YOU did something wrong. UGH!! I truly hope for your sake that he DOES go find someone else and leaves you alone!
