Speaking for myself, I wouldn't. I don't care about the alleged "pagan origins", no doubt other cultures used crosses for various meanings. However, in Western culture, wearing a cross implies that the wearer buys into the whole "original sin/ransom sacrifice" idea, and I don't. I don't view myself, or anyone else, as products of a "fallen race" of humans. I have no inborn sin because of something my ancestors did. No one died for my sins, because no one needed to.
GAIAGIRL: I agree with you here. So my answer to this question would be 'no', I personally would not wear a cross. jelcatjelcat8224

people who show up late for an appointment and don't even bother to aknowledge that they are late! At least appologize! They just march on in like everything is fine and expect to be wisked right in!!! GRRRRRR! And then they have the nerve to be mad when they are told there is no time for them! YOU WERE LATE!!!

Did you ever feel that you had Jehovah's Smile Of Approval?
by truthseeker ini heard this phrase a lot over my jw tenure, if we do this or that, we would have "jehovah's smile of approval.
"
did you ever experience this, say for pioneering?

I had a lot of 'counsil' tossed my way ... but I got baptized later than most of the 'born-ins' so I didn't have to really buckle down till then.
I got "marked" once ... does that even count?
I should have been reproved for ... well ... at least drinking!

Die hard jw's see any problem with Sept km?
by carla inwill die hard jw's see any control issues with the sept km?
i once brought up the fact to my jw that jw's were not allowed to get together informally to do any kind of 'bible' studies without the approval of the elders, gb, etc.. he said that was totally ridiculous and false, more apostate lies.
this was long ago now and i'm not sure he even remembers saying it.

this very topic is being discussed on the beliefnet debate board and from what I can see, the JW's there are are pulling the old "what they MEAN by that is ..." or "they're just saying that ...". It's sad really. There it is in black ad white coming straight from the org and they continue to make excuses.
On a side note, I started watching "The Gayana Tradgedy", a movie about the life of Jim Jones, the cult leader of "the people's temple". I'm only about halfway through, but some of the similarities between tactics he use and things the WTS does is unnerving to say the least. He even set up a judicial comittee to "counsel" weak ones and keep them in line! WOAH!!!! I can't wait to see the rest of it!
