Love needs an interaction! Love needs recognition! Love needs to be loved! So in that sense unconditional love exists unhappily in some of us because it does not receive the above three qualifications. It still exists void of these even though it needs them to fully realize its potential! IMHO

Opinion peice on Athiests

well i want to take a quick minute and deal with some of these issues.
to begin with, to make any statement regarding atheists in general would be false for several reasons.

Regarding People Who Complain About Everything....

my mom was telling me of how her friend is upset again with the elders (and nearly everyone else) because they don't talk to her.
she waits in the back of the hall and watches everyone go by her to see if they'll approach her to see how she's faring.. i know of a certain woman who regularly comments on how certain persons are "giving her a look".

That is what happens when you make your soul mate the WTBTS literature. You have no close friends. And it's only close friends that count in this life whether family or not. So I suspect that is your mums problem and will get worse. She will not find it in words on a page. After all she was born human with the need for human bonding. And its like using porn for sexual fulfillment - detached, second rate and imaginary !

so they were waiting for the messiah to 'arrive' at the time.

Scriptures like Is 9;6 come to mind but I don't know the Jews take on this. Also it would appear that many of Jesus followers would think the end was nigh, just as JWs today, from some of the things he is alleged to have said. If anyone knew 2000 years onward the world would still be as mixed up as ever maybe they wouldn't be so convinced in their day it was an Earth changing quest for peace. Life since then has been far from peaceful and lots of that by denominations of groups claiming to follow Jesus. On a world wide scale I wonder which religions have maintained a peace stance through the centuries?

I fell for that about accepting the feeling of suffering and rejection if I love Christ. Then I realized I'd always had that feeling anyhow and so telling me it was coz I'd been following Christ had me convinced. Anyone else make the same mistake all them years ago? Where you see a connection because someone explains a feeling you have in a way you haven't made sense of for yourself. People been using that same reasoning for centuries. You could go do it to someone if you wished!

Hypothetical Scenario... (Of a CULT, OMG!)
by saywhat29 inokay, this hs been going on in my head for a while, and though i should be focusing on my finals and papers, this little scenario keeps playing out in my head and i wonder if it is just my biased that "omgz it's an effing cult!
" or if there is some truth to it.. say they actually did pass out styrofoam cups with 'true christian' kool-aid... and told them that they would be in the new system after they took a swig.... do you think that the majority would do it?
one would always do it in any religion as all have to have their die-hards, but i think the real identifier of a cult is the idea that *most* would and could not help to do so without question.. because i can't help but *know* that my mother, my grandmother, and my sister would be bodies after the end of this little scenario of mine.

The next life will come soon enough! For now you have a paper to complete! Getting sidetracked with the next life will have you failing your paper and eventually in a low paid job to work your but off just to get home to sleep before the next shift. Go ask yourself if you want the paper to take your mind off your next life or the low paid job?

by quietlyleaving ini got 85% in my first assignment - arts and humanities and i enjoyed every minute of it.. the best part is that my jdub hubby and i have new enjoyable interests in common as we have found that we both like visitng art galleries and other leisure activities.. thank you all for helping me get here so quickly.
of course that isn't to say that everything is all plain sailing (far from it) but its nice to feel out of the woods!.
