Most of us are responsible parents 363 days a year...
by The Rebel inbut what happened yesterday surprised me.
in the space of two hours, i had 3 groups of kids knocking on the door asking for sweets.
i assume the parents vaguely new me, but i assure you all the kids were strangers to me.

I would hope the Adults would be in the street keeping an eye on the children as they went D2D , if that wasn`t the case then sure , it would be very irresponsible of the parents to allow this unsupervised .

[" crimes punishable by law " is a responsibility shouldered by each and every individual person ]
Apart from the mandatory law requiring persons to report Child Sexual Abuse , the onus is on any and every individual to report a crime especially against a child , failure to do so means that person is complicit in that crime.
All of those Elders handling the 1006 Child sexual abuse cases in Australia ,which equates to at least 3018 Elders , should face the strong arm of the Law and have the book thrown at them for failing to report just one case they were involved in.

Didn't go to memorial this year
by silent inmy wife and i had business to attend to out of town today and i had thought if we made it back home in time, we'd go to the memorial.
as it turned out, we didn't get home in time and we missed it, but we had a real good talk with each other on the way home.
we are largely successful faders and at the very least, i like to try and make the memorial.

I`m sorry something just does not add up .
Maybe you are one of those people who have left the religion , but the religion has never left you .
You are swayed by emotions and feelings and not by facts , you need to exercise your brain to sift through the facts of J.W.teachings since their beginnings , otherwise I think you are mentally lazy , and will drift like a cork on the seas , swaying this way and that according to the waves.
Seriously , I don`t mean to be offensive , but you need to do some serious research.

by Half banana inby its own mandate in the founding of the watchtower magazine in 1879, it was set up to proclaim the arrival of jc in the heavens according to the then currently failed adventist claim for jesus' return the year 1874.. russell's catalyst for all that came afterwards was his pet claim (in so many words) "aha but jc did in fact come... but came invisibly!
" he added without sound evidence that it took four years for jc to come to rule from the heavens after his arrival there and that then was said to be in 1878. .
within forty biblical years from the arrival date, russell promised, with hopes even higher than his bank account, that god’s kingdom with christ at the helm would rule the earth in the absence of all worldly opposition.

I often wonder how many of those parents of "Youths Who Put God First" woke up to the fact that these poor misguided people , children and parents , actually didn`t put GOD first , they put the Organization of Jehovah`s Witnesses first and died needlessly .
And if that is not the ultimate abuse of children , then I don`t know what is.
That fact alone should prove JW.ORG. is a failed doomsday cult.
What is it about Governments that they are so scared/ reluctant to bring the crimes of religious organizations to justice.
Any surviving parents of these or any other children who died in similar circumstances should band together and take out a class action writ against the Jehovah`s Witnesses /WTB&TS and claim damages .

by Simon inall the different congregations around the world hold it at similar local times but they all effectively are at different times relative to each other ... so why does the time matter?.
why the almost superstitious "oh, it must be after sundown".
cause it's not sundown everywhere that second.. god knew the earth was round ... right?.

Terrorist attack in Belgium

there was a terrorist attack in brussells, couple of bombs detonated in the brussell airport and the metro.. 36 dead so far.. i send my sincerest condolences to the people of belgium.. the motive seems to be revenge for the capture of the last surviving member of the paris terrorist attacks..

Isis , I.S. , Daesh , whatever they call themselves needs to be eradicated from the earth ,and the only way that is going to happen is by foot soldiers on the ground , otherwise this will go on for decades .
A tit for tat scenario , is that an option for Democratic nations to accept ?
It is not only the Western nations / Europeans , that have to make up this force it must include Middle Eastern nations as well .
If Islam nations are reluctant to participate , we will all have to wonder why.? And sanctions then should be imposed upon them .
Oh that`s right we rely on the M.E. for our oil supplies don`t we .Then maybe the west needs to threaten to take over those oil fields unless the Middle East steps up to the mark.
How much longer are we going to tolerate these attacks on innocent people going about their normal day to day business around the world ?
It is now time Terrorists must feel the terror of the free world.
