  of course this thread is inspired by princes sad death , yet i wonder how the average j.w.

  nowadays.. from what i have gleaned from the many threads about his death their seems to be a reverence about him even on pro-j.w.

  sites.. i have been out for about 25 years , yet in my time in the "truth" anything that put you on a pedestal was a no , no.. competition in any form was discouraged , sports especially.

  Competition in any form was discouraged , sports especially. Throughout the Congregations

  You were discouraged from engaging in anything that brought attention to you as an individual , lest you took away devotion that was only to be given to Jehovah.

  Are Jehovah`s Witnesses now becoming Idolaters of pop stars ? Sporting legends ? etc. and no disapproval from the Governing Body ?

  god's sevants in the past,who were instructed to assemble three times a year, we.

  look forward to meeting together in large groups.soon they will be out in full force.

  JW. logic , We are not under the law covenant , however the principles still apply as we see fit.

  In other words the G.B. can cherry pick any scripture they like apply whatever principle the like , and dictate to the rank and file it`s new light from Jehovah .

  WT's expert on blood!

  the january 8, 2000 awake magazine published an article "the growing demand for bloodless medicine and surgery".

  this article has been quoted extensively by jws as support for their "scientific" justification for refusing blood products.. a quote from that article that is familiar to most jws and exjws is this one:.

  “all those dealing with blood and caring for surgical patients have to consider bloodless surgery.”—dr.

  The bottom line though , is , Jehovah`s Witnesses accept fractions of blood that is donated by worldly people under the control of Satan`s system of things.

  Blood donated by Satan`s agents , that is processed by Satan`s agents into fractions , and willingly accepted by Jehovah`s Witnesses.?

  If that`s not hypocritical , I don`t know what is.

  A troubling visit with a satisfying end.

  so, i've been out for 2 years now.

  just picked up and walked away from the wacky religion that tried to control every part of my life through fear and guilt.

  i've been wondering as the months go by what would happen when an elder finally showed up at my door and pressed the issue as to why i ceased all activity and then tried to reactivate me.

  Jehovah's Witness Church Release Statement

  the church said that prince "found fulfillment as a witness and in sharing his faith with others.

  Is this a first for the WT, to make such a comment on a worldly celebrity ? Have they ever done it for anybody else?

  OK , M.J. became an apostate converting to Islam before he died , and still was given a J.W. funeral at a Kingdom Hall ? Is that true ?

  I don`t think the organization ever publicly acknowledged that M.J. ever was a Jehovah`s Witness , true ?

  So if this "People" article is correct it seems a shift in policy. What`s next !

  Sports stars , movie stars , are now going to be acknowledged as J.W.`s in good standing ?

  my writing a book about my strange life as a jw.

  i need some help.. does anyone remember when they used to get these charts out at the service meetings which had all the hours, "back calls" and bible studies on it?

  what did they call that?.

  In the 1960`s they also had a test paper you had to fill out every month on what you had learned in that month in the Ministry school , that was marked on how many questions you got right by the school overseer.

  The chart measured how the congregation was performing against the national average if I remember correctly.

  They also had breaks between the ministry school /service meeting and also the public talk / watchtower study.

  Interaction with Cart People

  on a recent visit to our capital..such an adrenalin rush when i rounded a corner and spotted carters !!.

  wandered slowly over and pretend to be interested..asked could i take mag...initial impression (and i'm in no way snobbish) was 2 scruffy looking dowdy sisters wich irritated me i don't know why....i was allways struggling as a single mum but refused to look like a tramp!!.

  sister jumped asked if i was interested in religion i said no too much abuse etc ...she said she undwrstood and went on to blather about catholic abuse scandal!
