I`m inclined to agree with Stephane here , penalise them, JW , for their violation of religious freedom.

RUSSIA: Many meetings raided and evidence planted
by ZAPPA-ESQUE inraids on jehovah's witness premises now take place more than three times per month.
these raids on doctrinally pacifist* religious communities often involve many heavily armed and camouflaged officials, with the "discovery" of apparently planted banned "extremist" literature.
legal dissolution of communities can follow.. http://www.forum18.org/archive.php?article_id=2228.

I admit it , I was an IDIOT ,naive ,late teen ,unhappy where my life was heading ,looking for answers to the meaning of life and had a curiosity about the bible.
I was vulnerable .and was sucked in, hook line and sinker. From the first I was indoctrinated JW`s were a persecuted people , so I kept my mouth shut until I could read as much as I could of WT publications.
This was in 1959 , when it wasnt that easy to do the research that is possible today.
Finally 33 years later the penny dropped .
I know , I`m a slow learner.

"The 2nd exhibit deals with the history of the organization"
I guess that means their latest version of their history , the one that has had so many revisions.
Only a lying, corrupt, deceitful, organization revises their early history

As has been brought out here many times before the only power they have over you is what power you allow them to have.
In other words they have no power over you , they are nobodys in a cult religion who instills in them they are somebodys , its up to you to burst that bubble.
They are big fish in a little pond of their own making , they are delusional ,thinking they have authority over everyone.

JW's and the forgotten Jesus
by LevelThePlayingField inso as i have been waking up more and more over the past 3 years...i keep telling myself i'm fully awake and then i wake up more, but that's a different thread.
but anyway, i've noticed a lot lately that the wt does not mention jesus or christ very much in their literature and neither to jw's in their conversations.
they mainly talk about jehovah.

The searcher points out that their are about 30 scriptures in the New Testament that admonish followers of JC ,to wtness about him and for him .
Their is not one (1 ) scripture in the New Testament that admonish followers of JC to witness about Jehovah
Jesus never used the name Jehovah , nor did any of the Apostles ,and not one of his Disciples.
The KI ,word for word translation of the Christian Greek Scriptures ,published by the WTB&TS ,does not have the Tetragrammaton representing the name Jehovah anywhere in it , therefore that name Jehovah does not belong in the New Testament.
It`s an unauthorised addition to the Bible
If knowing and using the personal name of God was of such importance , you would think that Jesus ,the Apostles ,and his Disciples would have made a big issue abut it ,they never used this name once ,none of them
As for Isa.43:10-12 , the Israelites never identified themselves as Jehovahs Witnesses in the 100`s of years before JC ,and that scripture was directed specifically to them , and JC never rebuked them for not identyfing themseves as JW`s.

So I just watched Jackson's ARC interview...
by schnell inthank you, everybody here, for introducing me to this.
no, no i had not heard of this.
child abuse issues have been roundly dismissed as apostate attacks in the congregations i've attended in the last decade.

Welcome to the board schnell , I feel your frustration.
A couple of other interesting points that I observed .
Some Elders took an affirmative statement as opposed to taking an oath on the Bible to tell the truth.
Geoffrey Jackson on the other hand took the oath to tell the truth ,swearing on the Bible.
The Elders under question had a complete dis-interest in the process of the proceedings with one especially looking as if to wait on the Holy Spirit to put words in his mouth , words that never came.
It was very embarrasing to watch.
Another spokesperson for the JW`s was very fortunate he wasnt charged with deliberately trying to mislead the commission , which he quite frankly tried to do.

Another Outright Lie Published 2/17 WT
by LostGeneration inthis info is from the article "who is leading god's people today" feb 17 study edition.. to help them disseminate bible truth in various languages, zion’s watch tower tract society was legally incorporated in 1884, with brother russell as president.
* he was an outstanding student of the bible, and he fearlessly exposed as false such doctrines as the trinity and the immortality of the soul.
he discerned that christ would return invisibly and that “the appointed times of the nations” would end in 1914.. pretty sickening article overall about how badass the gb is, though this little gem is printed as well, paragraph 12. the governing body is neither inspired nor infallible.

Another lie ? , "Zions Watchtower & Tract Society was Legally incorporated in 1884,with brother Russell as president"
Maybe that was true as regards the WT magazine
However
Fact :" William H.Conley was the first president of the "International Bible Students Association" later to be known as Jehovahs Witnesses . A religion that was started by C.T.Russell .
This was also true .

" Regrets Iv`e had a few , but too few to mention" ( thanks Frank ) , sorry I couldnt resist that .
Think yourself lucky my friend that you got out when you did at an early age , most of us here have been in it for decades and didnt escape until later in life .I spent 33 years as a " Captive of A Concept" from the age of 20 .
Some others here have spent decades longer .Your young enough to still make a productive life for yourself , dont waste the time you have.
I wish you all the best in your future. You have one

A stunning piece of LOGIC from the Apostle Paul
by nicolaou in1st corinthians 15 12-17. but if it is preached that christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even christ has been raised.
and if christ has not been raised, your faith is futile... .

Welcome to the forum ,and with all due respect I would ,if I were you ,reject the over-simplified version of Evolution dished out by the WT writers who more than often cherry pick Creationist fundamentalists to further their point of view .
You need to broaden your horizons on the subject with scientific facts that are easily found with a little research.
However whatever you do stick around , I learnt more about the JW`s than I ever thought I knew on this site and I was an avid reader of WT publications ,here you will learn TTATT .
Cofty has some excellent posts on this subject

Do Orthodox Jews reject blood transfusions ? because of the scriptures, they strictly believe ?
by smiddy inthis thought occured to me that orthodox jews take the bible/old testament scriptures very seriously regarding the blood issue raised in scripture .. and this is certainly borne out in regard to the bleeding of animals before eating them ,kosher food.. the orthodox jews are far more stricter than jehovah`s witnesses in this application / interpretation of scripture ,and i am curious as to how they interpret and understand these scriptures.. how do they view blood transfusions in the medical world.?.
and is it only the orthodox jews that are expected to only eat kosher food ?
how about the ordinary believing jew with their religion.do they also only eat kosher food ?

Thanks for the reply guys ,their is a lot of food for thought to go through , as a brief over-view it demonstrates the WT ,is just another man made interpretation of selected scripture.s they use and they completely miss the point , the intent/purpose of the scripture VS the application/interpretation of the said scripture .
