I wouldn`t concern myself too much about it.You can`t please everybody , some will love for what you post others may find it objectionable .Some even misinterpret what your post tried to convey , which can also work in your favour LOL

I don`t think there are many of us here who, at one time or another , haven`t said to ourselves , GEEEEZ I wish I hadn`t posted that ! .

I learn from others , hopefully others learn from me , regardless if it`s a negative thing or a positive thing ,we learn something .

And hopefully that benefits us as a person.

Its hard to believe that Australia saw it before the USA , my son and DIL went to the midnight screening and my wife and I saw it the next day.I enjoyed the first two movies 30 years ago , not so much the ones to follow , however this one did get something back to the originals .

We look forward to the next one.

Trinity doctrine and bible canonization

hello, a quick question that came to find and couldn't find easy answer using google so i'ma try here.. so: was the doctrine of trinity decided to be a christian doctrine by the same people who chose which books to include in the bible?

i vaguely remember that both of these subjects were decided at the first council of nicaea.

if this is not the case, then when, where and by whom were these things decided?.

The bottom line is no GOD , whether it be called Jehovah,Yahweh, Allah, or whatever anybody wants to call him or her, chose any books , that appear in the many different versions of the Bible .

The Bible along with all other Sacred writings are nothing more than the imaginations of humans , both male and female.

Here in the land of OZ , Safari suits were a no no for a while however so many Bros.wore them in S.E.Qld. , which made sense because of the climate they were tolerated , around the 70`s- 80`s .

Literature being discontinued, including Isaiah's Prophecy and Reasoning book

congregations get an annual letter that tells what can be ordered for literature (it's mainly a list of audio cds/dvds for the deaf), but this time it included publications that will be discontinued, and this included the isaiah's prophecy book and the reasoning book, and i think i saw the draw close to jehovah book.

i meant to take a picture of the letter but forgot.

the branch is only going to give what they have on stock, when that stock depletes that's it, you won't be able to order those publications anymore.. this is in canada so i don't know if this is worldwide..

Organizations that have nothing to hide are proud of there beginnings , early history ,not Jehovah`s Witnesses .

They are not just content to re-write it , they also want to destroy it.

That should say a lot to the rank & file

The Watchtower is not invincible

despite claims to the contrary, there's no guarantee the watchtower will be around in a few decades time.

and it seems to me there's ever mounting evidence that the opposite may well be true.

but it's not just that recruitment is down and their defectors are up.

Not only are there suckers born every minute , there are also vulnerable people with mental issues ,

people that are grieving for one reason or another , death , illness with death in view .

.People with low self esteem .

People with limited education that makes them vulnerable .

Lonely people who seek companionship .

People/children who are indoctrinated into believing the Bible is the word of God , without even knowing what the Bible actually says .

These are just some of the reasons why /how people can be sucked in to accepting the religion of JW`s.

I was in the last catergory , though some on this board might think I fitted an earlier catergory .LOL

And the poor born ins , you cant blame them for being a part of this cult , until I say they reach an age of maturity , say 21 for instance , if they haven`t realized it`s a cult by then ,

well I can only pity them .

Religulous Woke Me Up

What's More Important...Taking care of immigrants or the needy in your country?

i say take care of the needy ones first like our veterans and homeless and mentally ill, and then....take care of those not from this country.

Just how good is the record of the USA in helping their own first ?

The Native American Indians ? Not a good record.

The African Americans ? Not a good record .

However past mistakes can be rectified , yet it seems to be a catch 22 with the military operation going on over there and the call for taking in refugees from those lands.

I don`t believe you can screen out someone 100% that they will not be a potential threat at some later date .

Islam have many extremists willing to die for there cause , and the Muslim community have not done anywhere near enough in not just voicing disapproval of there actions but taking stronger military action to eradicate ISIS .All Muslim nations should be joining in an all out war on the Daesh ,Islamic State.

For those who bend over backwards trying not to offend the moderate Muslims , I say the moderate Muslims need to take action against IS , instead of sitting on the fence and falling in with whoever wins ,as it looks to me

Why aren`t a coalition of the Muslim nations sending in ground troops to put an end to this cancer of Islam

It`s certainly not endearing anybody in the sane world to be a Muslim.
