http://www.macleans.ca/news/a-jehovahs-witness-and-her-deadly-devotion/.
a jehovah’s witness and her deadly devotion.
did a jehovah’s witness die after refusing a blood transfusion, and should the state have let it happen?.
I just watched this DD about Kim Anderson ,very tragic for her and her children.
However the show did a great job of exposing the religions failings on many fronts and should warn anybody that this is a cult to stay away from ,right away.
I wasnt able to view the other one from Barbara .
i just went to a pre screening of this movie about an adventist guy who didn't want to kill but joined the army as a medic on the front line.
desmond doss saved 75 men in one operation singlehanded on the island of okinawa where desmond worked lowering men down a 400ft cliff to safety.. i thought this may be of interest to jws because of the pacifist stand they also have.. the movie comes out on the 4 th november..
Thanks for that barry , looks like a good movie based on a true story .It would have taken a lot of guts to do what he did.
i am starting to get a sign saying 'the certificate of something for this site is not verified, do you wish to go on yes/no' whats that about thanks..
As Pauline Hanson would say ..."Please Explain" ?
i suppose it was just a matter of time till it happened.
i've faded, not been dfed or daed, for years now.
once they tracked me down and tried to reactivate me, but then i moved, and hopefully lost them.
You could become a challenge for her to get brownie points in the congregation by getting you back to the meetings.
in recent months i have personally experienced 3 times how jehovah's witnesses' thinking and ad hominem attacks are being molded by their masters in the wtbts.. 1) j.w.
family members have stated that i am no longer part of the family because i say "negative things" about the org.. 2) my closest friend in my former congregation complained several weeks ago that i was "finding fault" with the org every time we had a conversation.
nothing from him since.. 3) when reverse witnessing to an elder at a trolley recently, he accused me of "criticizing the organization.".
It`s a classic example of the Governing Body speaking out of both sides of their mouth .Here we have them admit they are not inspired nor are they infallible ,that they can err in doctrinal matters and organizatioinal direction .
How many times have we read in the Watchtower there claim to be spirit directed by God , that they , the G.B. are being used by Jehovah to deliver New Truths to the faithful by means of New Light.?
Are they not saying that the old light that was given by the holy Spirit was in fact wrong ?,that the spirit erred ?
Isn`t that the same , being spirit directed , as being inspired by God ? And if they are as they often claim to be spirit directed by Jehovah , shouldnt they then be infallible in their teachings.?
Can they really have it both ways ?
Aren`t they contradicting themselves with such statements ?
that admission in the feb.17 ,study edition of the watchtower , " who is leading gods people today ?
" "the governing body is neither inspired, nor infallible, therefore it (they/we) can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction .".
have the many jehovahs witnesses past and present who have lost their lives by refusing blood transfusions due to the prohibition on blood tranfusions by jehovahs witnesses really got the sense of this statement ?.

Have the family ,relatives and friends of those who lost their loved ones due to the prohibition of blood transfusions by this religion come to grips with what this admission by the organization really means ?
What they are really saying is , our doctrinal policy on no blood transfusions could be wrong , due to the fact we are not infallible and we can err.
A point to consider : The Israelites / Jews were Gods chosen people for thousands of years and under his laws , I`m sure they would have a far better more informed understanding of the Old testament than anybody else , and they are certainly more strict than any JW about eating blood..Kosher food.etc.
Many scriptures support the sanctity of life above the letter of the law., a fact that escapes the JW /GB mindset .
so as i have been waking up more and more over the past 3 years...i keep telling myself i'm fully awake and then i wake up more, but that's a different thread.
but anyway, i've noticed a lot lately that the wt does not mention jesus or christ very much in their literature and neither to jw's in their conversations.
they mainly talk about jehovah.
blondie,
I counted at least 90 times ,looking at your link where you specifically asked ",Where is Jesus " ? in your comments of the WT study articles.
The Christian Greek Scriptures / New Testament is all about '"witnessing" about Jesus , not Jehovah.,and you are right in pointing that out time and time again.
raids on jehovah's witness premises now take place more than three times per month.
these raids on doctrinally pacifist* religious communities often involve many heavily armed and camouflaged officials, with the "discovery" of apparently planted banned "extremist" literature.
legal dissolution of communities can follow.. http://www.forum18.org/archive.php?article_id=2228.
I`m inclined to agree with Stephane here , penalise them, JW , for their violation of religious freedom.
why were we ever a jw?
were we mad?
we must have been .... well, my excuse is that i knew nothing else.
I admit it , I was an IDIOT ,naive ,late teen ,unhappy where my life was heading ,looking for answers to the meaning of life and had a curiosity about the bible.
I was vulnerable .and was sucked in, hook line and sinker. From the first I was indoctrinated JW`s were a persecuted people , so I kept my mouth shut until I could read as much as I could of WT publications.
This was in 1959 , when it wasnt that easy to do the research that is possible today.
Finally 33 years later the penny dropped .
I know , I`m a slow learner.
