Jetsons (I was actually allowed to watch Smurfs! Imagine that! )
(Babera is pronounced "Bar-bare-uh")
hands down my all-time favorite was the flintstones.
it's just so hard for me to compare anything else to its humor, cleanliness, appeal to young as well as older ones at the time.. .
no matter how bad a mood i would be in after school i could always count on fred and barney to screw something up to make me feel better lol.

for me it was that god is killing billions of people just to prove a point.
what about you?
Birthdays. I never really tried to defend anything else.
i've listened to a number of jws speak about the "new world" and it strikes me that many of them plan to carry a lot of materialistic and worldly expectations with them.
for example, i heard one lady complain about the williams' (venus and serena) success as tennis players, that they should be out there preaching and waiting to play tennis in the new world.
another one came from a visiting elder speaking at the local hall.
You can play golf with a branch and an apple.
because i was a born-in and raised in the wt, i was always told that we don't need holidays to tell us to give gifts to our children.
we give them gifts all year around.. did your parents ever make good on that promise?.
I actually did. Granted, they weren't expensive gifts, since there were 4 children and only 1 household income (my mom was a SAHM), but that was okay.
I still longed for Christmas presents though.
there is another thread being discussed as to if you got gifts throughout the year as jw's claim.
many like me, whom were raised in the jw's, either had poor parents or picky ones that claimed you were being "materialistic" if you wanted toys, gifts, nice clothing, etc.
this made me wonder, since we were somewhat deprived of the nice things that others had growing up, does that make us more apt to buy the "best of everything" now....that is, if we can?
Only when it comes to Christmas and birthdays. I spoil my daughter, nieces and nephews like crazy. My mom (a JW who buys her grandchildren birthday presents and goes to their parties...just don't tell anyone) says she wishes I were her aunt lol.
who is the last person you would ever want to be trapped in an elevator with?
for me - tom cruise.
My aunt. If you met her, you would understand why.
i was reading redpill2006's post and i noticed that some mentioned that get-togethers or parties have been largely discouraged.
i stopped attending meetings in 2003/2004 and i remember my congregation still had get-togethers, although they were few and far between.
they were not completely discouraged though, has this changed?
We used to have get-togethers quite often. Talent shows, pool parties, etc. Large gatherings. Maybe my congregation didn't get the memo lol.
i remember when a brother named donis and i used to go out in field service on the weekends we took advantage of our congregations large territory.
we each had about nine return visits and we would pick one on the southern end of the territory and afterwards drive to one in the northern part and then back again.
along the way we would throw in laundry mat to dump a lot of the magazines that were given to us by other brothers/sisters who needed room in their garage.
I just lied on the reports. I was never questioned.
girls what did you do with the dorky dresses when you left the truth.
guys what did you do with the dorky polyester suites and white shirts when you left the truth.
I stopped wearing the "dorky" attire sometime in my teens and dressed how I wanted to, despite my mother yelling at me about how slutty I looked. I was an invisible one in the cong., so I was never spoken to about it.
here is mine: .
i have to much money invested in ties and suits, i can't leave!!
!
It's fun to tease the brothers by being the only sister in a low-cut form fitting dress.
