  The Borg has given up!!!!

  it's become obvious in the last few days that the borg is done, done giving one dime over to the membership of the organization.

  they know or have been told that it's a waste of time to spend money trying to recruit new members so their cutting all out lays of money in this regard to the bone.

  they will continue to spend money where they can make a prophet, keeping the ones in, not thinking and donating.

  How do you go from flush to broke in a matter of months? They have been running all over the Hudson Valley spending money like a drunken sailor. Buying apartment complexes, buying land for video production, putting temp workers up in many many hotels across Rockland, Westchester, Dutchess and Orange counties, renting shuttles. They even paid contractors to build a portion of Warwick so it could get done faster.

  Then all of a sudden you're broke??? So broke you give your loyal constituents 1 week to get the hell out? So broke that you stop projects? So broke that you can't afford free labor?

  Something really bad has happened. I can't wait to find out what it is.

  I agree. There Is No Master plan. There is not even a minor plan. There is no plan. This is a knee jerk reaction to something real bad they just found out about. Would love to know what it is!

  do you ever wonder why out of all the witnesses, you are the one that woke up?

  i wonder many times why me.

  i know many men and women that are much, much better persons than me; either they are much smarter, more humble, kinder, more successful, or just better persons all around.

  Have you ever played the "would I have ever awakened if...." game?

  For me, I wonder if I had married someone different, if we didn't have a child, if I never left Bethel, etc. I'd like to hope I would have awakened anyway, but I'm not sure.

  Very thankful for where I am though. "I took the road less traveled by, and that has made all the difference"

  Gilead meals. Everyone kicks off work 15 minutes early, goes up to the table heads room, knocks back a few drinks and some crackers and we all make it down the stars somehow without falling for a rushed, slam the food back Bethel meal of steak. Then all stand up to pray and back at work by 1.

  That was a Bethelite idea of a party!!

  Gives me indigestion now.

  Hey Morph. I was at Wall kill during the time you were in Bklyn. Laundry down there was renowned as a rough job. Always great to hear about fellow slaves that escaped. BTW top floor of the Squib buildings was......

  FURNITURE STORAGE.

  Yep. Million dollar real estate used for office furniture storage. After Patterson was built they never really filled up those 25-30 buildings.

  And I never made it to CBGBS but did make it to Limelight once. Wow the missed opportunities!

  i mentally awoke.

  it took another 6 months or so to walk away for good, but this date marked the end of my belief in any conventional sense of the word.. d4g.

  To your freedom day Done4! Feels like a lifetime ago and yet very everpresent- yes??

  My freedom day was Memorial 2007. I knew then that it was over. I feel more and more alive and awake every day.

  Are You "Technically" Still A Jehovah's Witness?

  even if you don't regard yourself as a practicing jw, some may view you simply as inactive, a lost sheep, etc.. if you were baptized but not disfellowshipped or disassociated, you may still be a jw---right?

  Walked away 8 years ago. Never was acted against by the org. My family asks what my "status" is. I reject the premise. I have no status. I don't acknowledge their power to count or uncount me as a member.
