  i am a little afraid this post will be a dead giveaway to who i am.

  i am afraid of lurkers.

  anyhow i am dying to get it off my chest and get some advice.

  Firstly, your niece is very lucky to have you around.

  Is this young lady baptized? Does she want to remain a JW? Bear in mind that there are no specific DFing offences - if the elders want you out - you're out. What would the consequences be? Is her mother likely to shun her? What are your niece's immediate plans? Is she going to college? Does she have a job?

  Her mother's melodramatic response is to be expected - remember everyone who is not a JW is depraved, untrustworthy and about to become Birdfood(TM) Real Soon Now(TM).

  18 is the age to be enjoying light romance and fun while you start to carve out what path she wants to take in life. I don't have any kids, but I think 18 is old enough to decide if you want a boyfriend, and who he'll be.

  most of the feminists i've met were either ugly, dykey or both.

  Feminism is the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes.

  It has NOTHING to do with hating men. If most people think it means something different, most people are wrong. How many times do feminists have to state what they believe?

  i use caps, because this term has been used in a derogatory manner when used in reference to things i have posted.

  I have worked full time in the chemical industry for the last 14 years, I have a BSc in Industrial Chemistry, and I earn £10 000/annum more than my husband. It sounds like I must be an ugly, man hating dyke, eh?

  I am a feminist, because I believe I should have the same rights as a man to vote, own property, earn the same wage for the same work, and so on. Its not so long ago I would not have had those rights by virtue of not having my genitalia on the outside.

  I am very happily married to a wonderful man, a very masculine, attractive man. He is a man with enough self worth, self esteem and maturity to not feel he has to keep me down to prove himself.

  I know that there are women out there who are rude and ungrateful if they are shown a little courtesy by a man. I believe those women must be woefully lacking in self esteem to think that accepting sincere courtesy demeans them. I also believe they are in the smallest minority.

  There are men out there that are always declaring how much they love women - but are repulsed by a woman with opinions.

  There are women out there who are also more than happy to enjoy the rights that have been won for them, but say "I am not a feminist". This I cannot understand.

  this was often called "dialysis dementia".

  today more than 5,500 people in the uk are waiting for an organ transplant that could save or dramatically improve their life.. most are waiting for a kidney*, others for a heart, lung or liver transplant.

  but less than 3,000 transplants are carried out each year.. there is a desperate need for more donors.
