What's the best cover version of a song you've ever heard?
by VampireDCLXV inthe title pretty much says it all.. it's true that there are many classics that simply can't be topped but it doesn't stop people from trying anyway.
and what do ya know; occasionally someone does succeed.

Ironically , the ONE and Only arguement clear enough to destroy any honest JWs faith is the one arguement that the JWs avoid altogether.....unless they are lying about it like in the 1960 WT, and 1981 WT, where they say that when Jesus chose russells group he didnt leave it to a novice organization BUT he chose the 1800 yr old slave class!!!!!!!!! an out right misleading statement that boggles the mind. Russell came to his opinions by way of independent research and with the Adventists.
THE ONLY way the Society can EVER avoid this whole arguement, and put a rest to it , is to say that the 1800 yr old faithful and discreet slave class was an Idea, or concept, or "surviving ministry" that russell adopted....which would raise other questions so i guess theyre screwed....

Only JW's will survive Armageddon...
by Bluegill inis there anything in print by the wtbs that actually says or strongly suggests only jw's will survive armageddon and live in the new system?
i know someone that has a hard time believing that god will destroy almost 6 billion people and doesn't recall ever being told that only jw's will survivie..

I remember reading somewhere that , to paraphrase, "there is nothing to indicate that non baptized ones will survive the end", with stress on the baptized part, .....so...somewhere , someplace theres something to that effect....

Ok, but the bible DOES infinitely talk about graphic destruction of ppl. If JWs borrow from these scriptures to imply prophecy then I would say it "backs up" their bull.........like the "blood reaching up to the horses girdle", like "possilbly you will be concealed in the day of Jeh anger", ect ect...

There good news brings depression to there memebers!
True , but,
....to be honest, when i was a JW and preached my ass off all the time, TO ME, the good news was that me, you , and anybody could love forever! This world was going to be destroyed Dan 2 44, and that the governments of today had theirs coming. So it was depressing if u werent a JW lol....
Of course the good news is that jesus came in 1914 invisibly and he has been separating the sheep from the goats through use of the Watchtower Bible Tract Society.
DOESNT THIS BEG THE QUESTION:
If Jehovah and Jesus have been using the Watchtower Society and the governing body to actually preach the good news that jesus has arrived in 1914 and soon all these kingdoms will be destroyed, then,
YOU WOULD THINK THAT JESUS OR at least an ANGEL would at the very least sit in on one of the gov body meetings in brooklyn AFTER ALL THIS TIME!!! If only to encourage the work. If only to let them know all is well and the end is coming and Not to worry about trivial things, but to keep on keeping on. LOL, Lots of examples in the bible ....

So did Jesus said that his "good news" would be preached by an organization or individuals?
The society is forced to speak out of both sides of the mouth. Yet an apologist would say, BIG DEAL, it doesnt matter as long as its being preached and that an organization is comprised of individuals therefore w05 2/15 makes no great leap to say christians are individuals....the org is the only one doing the work and we are clouding the issue.
AND THIS is exactly the kind of reasoning that I would hope aplogists realize. DISTINCTIONS without DIFFERENCES that plague the thinking of jws.
On the one hand they represent an organization. On the other hand theyre said to be individually judged. When it comes to following what jesus said it comes down to obedience to an organizations point of view and jesus point of view as interpreted by the society.

I put this video and the other thread, on Math 24 14, to show apologists that there is another way to look at the whole issue that they insist is a mark or sign of the only true religion.
Maybe someone will get the point. Maybe they wont. Whatever lol..
