  "yahweh is a monster and the bible is full of contradictions!".

  this is for all atheists, skeptics, believers, anyone to post the biggest contradictions that you believe are found in the bible, and also to tell about why you believe the god of the old testament (yahweh/jehovah) is a "monster" (as so many have said on this website in the past).. so this is a double-themed-thread!.

  i want to see if i can provide good answers/solutions using logic and reasoning..

  Here's a couple of geographical contradictions....

  In Matthew 8:28-32 there is the tale of Jesus casting the demons from the men into the herd of swine and then they lose their marbles and go running off the precipice into the water. The only problem with this is that the "region of the Gadarenes" is about 25 miles from the nearest precipice going off into water, so the swine would have had to run a marathon first with the observers in hot pursuit. As a side note, can an animal be "possessed"?

  Another one is, there is no such land as "Cana". Turning water into wine is just another allegory retelling the metaphysical creation story and the land is really "Canaan". That one really explains how Jesus could treat his own mother like a P.O.S.

  Why would anybody who knows the truth of reincarnation and karma want any part of a Pharisee religion? If I was running things in an Eastern country I would throw Christians the hell out. There's a lot more truth in Hinduism and Buddhism, in fact in ANY eastern religion, than the kindergarten cosmology of Christianity. As a result, western man is incapable of metaphysical abstract thought and that's why he knows nothing but materialism and capitalism, greed and selfishness.

  Psalms 40:6 says that God never asked for sacrifices or burnt offerings. Since Ezra the black magician and his corrupt Levite scribes added in all the crap about animal sacrifices, which they took from the Sumerians (what a neat way to have all the guilt-ridden idiots bring you free livestock), that just about sums it up. We have no need of a savior, we need to save ourselves.

  for all individuals who are atheists, agnostics, christians, jews, muslims, jehovah's witnesses, or anyone else: this is the thread to post the very best argument against god or defense/case for god based on the problem of evil/suffering.. if there is an all-good, all-powerful, all-knowing god, why does he allow all of the suffering and evil we have today (and down through the millenniums)?.

  also, for those who believe in god (like myself), how do you harmonize/reconcile your belief in god with the fact of all of the evil and suffering in the world?.

  i will post my beliefs on this shortly..

  Because of a corrupt priesthood who perverted and distorted the true cosmology of the myths, we have confused nature with a single, above all-else benevolent God that thinks about everything before he lets it happen. The universe(s) is/are so vastly complicated that we haven't even imagined how complex the hierarchy "above" us is. The Kabbalah "Tree of Life" would be a good place to start.

  There is nothing moral or perfect in the creation of a world. For spiritual energy to become physical matter is an extremely violent process, and once it is set into motion, it doesn't think about right or wrong, it just does what it is programmed to do. It is an evolutionary process, and rather than creating a perfect world that humans messed up, instead it was a primeval world that needed to be refined into perfection over billions of years. The only way for that to happen is through suffering, as they say, "whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger", but let's not forget that along with the gift of life comes great joy and pleasure. It's not ALL about suffering and never has been.

  i mean screw proving that jws are not gods chosen people....i have beat my head bloody trying to prove that to wife, son, parent, friends....lol...which is why i do not have them anymore!

  funny how if you do that...they take pride in how much closer to jehober and his org they are!!!!!arrggggghhh!!!!.

  but if you can disprove the entire bible...and that is their basis for everything....well maybe that is the way to go..... unfortunately i cant get anyone to listen to me now for even 10 seconds!!!

  By reading the mythology of other cultures that's a LOT older than the Bible and seeing with your own eyes that almost NONE of it is original, and that the Jews simply inserted different names into the text and made everything about THEMSELVES. They couldn't even come up with original names, for instance, "Abraham"is "Brahma" but its not a dude, it's the Life Principle descended into matter. It's metaphysical stuff made literal for dummies.

  Check out "Deceptions and Myths of the Bible" by Lloyd M. Graham. It exposes it from beginning to end as the blatant plagiarism that it really is. 473 pages of sheer bliss and endless ammunition for anyone who is sick and tired of Bible-thumping judgmental Pharisees.

  the watchtower society teaches that jesus is a fallen angel!.

  back in the days of charles taze russell, the watchtower society correctly taught that abaddon/apollyon from revelation chapter 9 was satan or a demon (because the bible describes him as a fallen angel of the abyss who is in control of all of the demon/locusts):.

  Interesting, since the Gnostics teach that Jesus was a fallen bodhishattva, and many other groups say he was a fallen Master, and that he incarnated many times on earth, voluntarily renouncing "Nirvana" for the love of humanity.

  Science Channel program on "Lost Gospels" - did anyone else see it?

  i watched an interesting program last night on science channel called mysteries of the bible - this episode was about the lost gospels.. they include one by peter, another by mary magdelene, and one by judas.

  the most interesting part of the show, to me, was how they debunked the notion (shared by the wtbts) that constantine's council was somehow inspired and picked out the correct four gospels by divine means.. the pictured constantine as a practically non-religious person except in the sense that he saw a centrally organized system of christianity as a source of political power for himself.

  much was made of how he disliked the independent spirit of the gnostics, and therefore viewed mathew, mark, luke, and john as the least politically dangerous of the numerous gospel writings available in his time.. and, of course, again i was reminded of just how uncertain we really are about the writings preserved in the present-day new testament: they were written at least decades after their events took place, and were the result of verbal traditions told from one person to another.

  Constantine as a "practically non-religious person"? The guy was a monster who brutally murdered his own family. The Roman Church is the MAIN REASON that the Age of Pisces was not the age of mankind's spiritual awakening, because a wave of gnosis came through this place around the time of Christ just as its happening again now at the beginning of the Aquarian age.

  The Bible was put together by Satanists to be the biggest deception and the cruelest hoax in the entire history of the planet. They took bits and pieces of divine wisdom and accurate cosmology in mythical form and made it all literal to spoon-feed to the uneducated idiots in their domain, because they did away with the education too! And then they burned everything else. This was the "milk" versus the "meat" (gnosis) that Paul spoke about.

  Developing Your Own Private Channel to God

  sounds absurdly ambitious, doesn't it?

  follow my thinking here and you'll understand what i mean.. i believe in the godhead concept, not a personal creator ( who would be a lunatic for making t rex, guinea worms and countless other horrors).

  so, i see "god" in everything as consciousness fills the universe and maintains it.

  From a good basic yoga class to the Dalai Lama, they will all tell you that the way to plug into your Higher Self is to quiet the mind chatter through relaxation, meditation, conscious breathing, etc.... these things will increase your vibration and activate your endocrine glands like the pineal and pituitary. They are our antenna to "God" who is within the self. It's not easy but pure intent and diligence is the key.

  I totally agree about T-Rex etc.... it was a big part of my spiritual awakening when I realized that this world was not created perfect by a perfect God. It's up to US to perfect it.
