  in a first, a court convicted a member of the jehovahs witnesses religious sect over her refusal to sanction blood transfusion for a relative, a procedure banned by the sects teachings, interfax reported wednesday.. natalya podlozhevich was fined 5,000 rubles ($170) by a magistrate of the khanty-mansiisk regions town of kogalym, which found her guilty of abandoning in danger her 5-year-old son.. the unnamed boy was hospitalized last february in serious condition, the cause of which was not specified.

  medics said he required blood transfusion, but his mother refused to sanction the procedure.

  Like the rest of the Bible, this illustration or parable is a metaphor, applying to oneself. YOU are the faithful and discreet slave that the Master appoints over all his belongings. As already mentioned, the context shows this.

  Even if this DID apply to a group today, the Watchtower hardly qualifies. This website is filled with the reasons why. The only things they are faithful to are money, power and Jehovah, who is really Satan, sitting on the Judgment Seat.

  historian niall ferguson made some extended remarks recently arguing that the american empire may be closer to the edge than many suppose.. he starts out observing that while the fateful decline of american supremacy is now widely accepted, it is still generally expected that this will be a protracted process.

  after all empires don't fall in a day.

  Of all the outrageous practices, shunning seems to be the one thing that really pisses people off. I'm quite pleased to see the demonstrations and protests starting up in various places.

  Of course, the above figure of 2.2 million kills for Jehovah doesn't include approximately 7 million more who died in the flood. I didn't mention it because the Bible didn't tally up the dead for that one.

  So let's see, 7,000,000 dead, 8 survivors, for a survival rate of .000000142 percent. (In all fairness, that might be one too many zeros, I'm not sure as my calculator couldn't handle these wonderful numbers revealing Jehovah's undeserved kindness.) That means 1 out of every 875,000 vindicated Jehovah's name... so Jehovah is actually showing much more mercy and compassion in the last days. Who said Jehovah doesn't change? He is truly evolving!

  ....as of the end of the OT, Jehovah was leading Satan in kills, 2.2 million to 10.... and even with the 10, Jehovah gets an assist. So, the final score is consistent with the way it's been going since the first inning.

  Will there be cars in the New System?

  growing up as a jw i always imagined the new system (tm) as being just like it's presented in the literature (tm).

  i thought we'd all be hanging around with dorky looks on our faces, petting tigers and panda bears all day while we eat fruit and practice our dorky grins.. i've never seen a pic from the society (tm) showing cars or planes (or other forms of transport) in the literature (tm).

  what did you imagine as far as transportation in the new system (tm)?

  hi everybody, i was wondering how were you dealing with the snow.here in connecticut the snow is brutal.so i was wondering how people were surviving was is being the worst winter since 1978..

  Here in Long Island, New York, we broke the record for most snow in the month of January. There's more on the way for this week....

  I've pretty much decided that this is my last winter in New York. If I could, I'd move to Saint Lucia, but I'll have to settle for Fort Lauderdale. That's where everybody who was born in Brooklyn seems to be ending up.

  Does Genesis 19 condemn Homosexuality?

  there are many "proof" texts that people (including jws) use to justify their rejection of anyone that is gay.

  there are a few scriptures that you can pull up and try to make a case for show homosexuals why they are evil and wrong.. i've been researching more of these scriptures and i'm coming to some very different conclusions than many other christians hold, especially jws.

  i wanted to talk about the first text used by many people to condemn homosexual behaviour.

  I gotta tell ya bro, this doesn't come from me, I'm just relaying what I've learned.....

  I read this book, "Sex in History" by Reay Tannehil....it says that many ancient cultures practiced "tantra", the Mayans, I think I remember Kamasutra, and others, I think in China, where they would be locked in sex for hours without spilling their semen. This is exactly what is taught in gnostic kabbalah, that until the semen is spilled, it's not fornication. They believed that the seminal fluid was sacred, because it carries the life principle in it (the sperm is symbolized by the Serpent) because it is capable of creating "soul". They believed that dropping one's load was equivalent to spilling their brains out, because when properly transmuted, instead of being spilled (even the Old Testament mentions something about this making someone "unclean until the evening" I think), it would lead to spiritual awakening. The sexual energy from the semen, the most powerful energy humans can generate, would drive its way up the kundalini in the spinal column by this transmutation, a little at a time, turning on the chakras one by one until finally activating the pineal gland and crown chakra.

  So, to sum it up, according to these various cultures, fornication is spilling of the semen, not sex in itself.

  Now for the bomb: According to the gnostic kabbalah, fornication is the mysterious sin against the holy spirit that Jesus said would never be forgiven in this age or the next. They say that a "virgin birth" is when someone gets pregnant by this tantra, from pre-ejaculation, which is supposed to be the prime sperm!

  Needless to say, if this is true, we are ALL royally screwed.
