well when my family started to find out i don't believe that they have the truth why they said i have apostate thinking. according to the jw's apastate is someone who left the truth and is trying to pull others out of the org. the real definition is someone who changes their faith. so if you changed your faith in the witnesses belief then you are an apostate. i don't think its bad at all.

How Many People Here Have Been "Disciplined" By The Elders?
by minimus inby "discipline" i mean, either private, public reproof, disfellowshipping or something that got you in enough trouble that you had to be counseled by the loving shepherds and it cost you something by not having "privileges".

I was brought in the back room after the book study and counsiled about moving to New Orleans to be close to bigdreaux. i thought it was hillarious. I hadn't done anything wrong (that they knew about) but just the thought of going against what they suggested me to do was enough to have a meeting with them. and i've also been "counsiled" for other things but this one i thought was pretty darn funny.

Individual. i'm not the norm compared to what people think is normal. my thoughts and ideas are my own and i sometimes get in deep discussions about them with others because they are not the norm. but on some points i choose to think and believe the way others do. so i guess a little of both.

Fading In? Am I nuts?
by jaydoe ini am a baptized jw that faded some years back.
in those days i deeply believed in the org and became disillusioned by some things happening in the local congregation.
following some research on the net i decided to fade out of watchtower existence because i did not want to keep mixing with false religion (or so i thought at the time).

i think you should do whatever you feel is right for your happiness. i personally couldn't go back even if it were for friends because i couldn't take being judged at every meeting or being watched and gossiped about. plus, knowing the corruption and lies turns me completely off to the idea. but if you think you can go back with an open mind and not become brain washed by all of them i say do it if it makes you happy. just remember what you went through and don't be the typical witness.

Are some of us still judgmental and think ourselves morally superior?
by nvrgnbk inis a certain "uptightness" creeping into our community?.
should we be scolding one another?.
especially kids?

thinking about it though if there weren't people out there that looked at things a different way and was a little judgemental or harsh or whatever these theads wouldn't be so interesting. so i guess it can be good too.

i agree completely Nvr. who are we to tell someone they are wrong for what they do or how they act? isn't that one of the reasons we left the borg? i hear ya brother!
