100 foreskins for your daughter
by Zep inthought dating and marriage was tough in the year 2000...well just check out what david had to go through.. david wants to marry michal, sauls daughter.so whats he have to do?.
samuel 18:25-28. at that saul said: "this is what you men will say to david, "the king has delight, not in marriage money, but in a hundred foreskins of the philistines".
so david rose and struck down among the philistines two hundred men, and came bringing their foreskins and giving them in full number to the king to form a marriage alliance with the king.. lol

Is the World Really More Violent Today?
by nvrgnbk ina quick perusal of the bible reveals an extremely violent world.. any brief study of human history reveals acts of barbarism and bloody atrocities dispersed across millenia .. is the world of today perhaps safer than ever?.
-
brinjen
Overall, no. I think we are just more aware of it through the media and our ever faithful (cough) politicians. The world has always been a violent place, nothing has changed.

Oh dear. I thought you were referring to something else at first. Umm, err,
It is yet another one of their double standards. They brag about having millions of followers at the same time bragging about their small size. Were the GB unable to get a 2/3 majority on that vote and wound up with 50/50 perhaps?

We had a rather large Italian family for quite a long time, a family from New Zealand, that's about it the rest were white. Pretty boring

Did you have to dress up for meeting?
by ericr ini remember having to dress up for every meeting even the ones during the week.
i had to wear a botton down shirt dress pants, a tie, dress shoes, dress socks and a blazer.
this was also required by my parents to dress up when going door to door.

brinjen
Yup, every meeting as well as field service. Had to wear dresses/skirts and pantyhose, no matter how hot it was. Nowadays, I rarely wear dresses or skirts and I've never once worn pantyhose, hate them.

by Hortensia ini went to the grocery store today - no that's not your fault.. it's 103 degrees today, not bad.
there were three people sitting in the shade in front of the grocery store.
there was a middle aged woman, an older man in a wheelchair, and a thin man whose frozen smile screams "elder.

Did anyone notice that every disaster on the news is the worst one ever.
Yup, we get that here too, I've given up on the commercial news. I only watch the ABC news, they at least have some integrity left.
