PROVERBS (of former JW's)
by AllTimeJeff inone of the books from the bible i still value is proverbs.
it's a collection of wise observations of life.
it causes me to think, which is a good thing.. however, i also know that among us former jw's are life lessons that can be reduced to that of a proverb.

This could have been a WT program from 20 years ago.
It probably IS a WT program from 20 years ago... recycled. Sounds great.

More importantly, how did Noah's wife feel about these vegetarian spiders? Was she still just as afraid of them,
or did she swap salad recipes with the vegetarian spiders?

One of my favourite all time quotes... from Dr Seuss. A fellow poster uses this as a sig on another board...
"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

To Angel Eyes & Other WT Apologists
by snowbird init has come to my attention that a much-beloved poster on this forum has been hurt by the insensitivity shown toward her account of how badly she was treated by the wt.. i realize this is a place where are all welcome, and barring any posting guidelines violations, we are free to air our views without fear of any backlash.. however, please keep in mind that most posters here - yours truly being one of them - view the wt in a negative light.
with all the evidence out there pertaining to its deceitfulness, how can anyone view it otherwise?.
i reached out to you, angel eyes, because i sense that you need a friend.

how many people do you think would have crushed their own statue had the big boss told them too? I bet just as many if not more.
I'm thinking the same greenie. I think a lot too didn't realise the exercise ended with the crushing part... they were expecting another step afterwards.

I should prolly mention the training was conducted by one of the top bosses of the store... so when he asked us to crush the sculpture, many felt they had to. There were a lot of apologetic faces afterwards.
I was one of the 3 btw...

Little story I'd like to share with you all... in a philosophical mood tonight... no one panic, it won't last.
I just finished the induction training for a job I just started. One of our 'tasks' tonight... we were each given a handful of play dough which we were each instructed to sculpt into something which represents our own personal values. We then had to tell the rest of the group (15 trainees in total) what our sculpture represented and why.
Lot of common themes amongst us... family, love etc...
We then, each had to get up, walk around the room looking at everyone else's sculptures then pick one... any except our own. We stood in front of the sculpture, we were then instructed to raise our right hand... which we all did.
We were then instructed to use our right hand to smash the sculpture in front of us... 12 complied, the other 3 refused.
Moral? We all prize our own values but how often do we stop and think about how much our actions crush the values of others? Something to think about there...
