as some of you may know, the simpsons movie had a national contest as to what springfield would host the opening of the simpsons movie, and springfield, vt won.

that happens to be the center of my newspaper's circulation, so i spent seveal hours today on the "yellow" (yup) carpet interviewing and photographing celebs who created the series and the movie.

international media there like you wouldn't believe.

i know this topic has been discussed before, but it really hit home for me today.... i wound up taking a trip down memory lane today.

after reading the thread about the kh that was burned down, i decided to google the town name where i grew up to find out if they ever caught who was responsible for burning down the kh there all those years ago.

i accidentally came across some web pages of a witless family i knew very well.. last i knew of this family, their eldest daughter (once a close friend of mine) had been disfellowshipped and was thinking of returning to marry a brother.

I wound up taking a trip down memory lane today. After reading the thread about the KH that was burned down, I decided to google the town name where I grew up to find out if they ever caught who was responsible for burning down the KH there all those years ago. I accidentally came across some web pages of a witless family I knew very well.

Last I knew of this family, their eldest daughter (once a close friend of mine) had been disfellowshipped and was thinking of returning to marry a brother. Turns out, she did return and marry and they now have a young son together. Most of the rest of the family had their pages (except for one who isn't featured much, faded out perhaps?)

It got me thinking though, it's been 7 years since I last saw or heard anything about this family and how little has changed. They're still living in the same dump of a town (sorry South Australians ), still waiting for that elusive armageddon to come along and change the world for the better.

So OK, maybe my life hasn't been that grand either. But when I look back on just the last three months on what I've managed to achieve, I think I've done pretty good. I've left the job that was making me unhappy and start on a new job Monday (with much better career path prospects), I've re-hashed my education by enrolling in an on-line course (waiting on paper work from the Uni), I've finally managed to make peace with myself and my history (thanks to all you guys ) that's in just a couple of months.

Any similar experiences or thoughts?

Wow. It's an hour long, There is a lot to digest as well, although a lot of the info is ground that has already been covered. The interviews with Ray Franz are good. There's even old footage of Charles Russell. Recommended viewing!
