What did you have for breakfast and why?
Where do you live and why?
It all began in a Garden a long, long time ago.

incantations form the core of many ancient religions, many of which survive to modern times.
mystical jewish kabala, islam, christianity etc.. saying a certain name or specific verse, or writing certain words, are said to change the outcome of events and heal or inflict tragedy.
speaking in tongues falls into this genre as well.. the sixth and seventh books of moses, used in hoodoo and voodoo, portray moses as the greatest of spell weavers with magical powers to turn a cane into a snake for instance.

as a few of you may remember, i suffer from bipolar.. when working at the uk home office, i was signed off by my doctor with depression and anxiety.. in the space of 11 months i was assessed by 2 home office doctors, both diagnosing me as unfit for work.
i eventually left.. how therefore, can stupid little people in the kh say you'll be better doing fs, ministry school and being regular at meetings??.
they have to be the most un-empathetic bunch of people on the planet.
LOL @ Xant.
There is a prevailing notion in the Black community that we women are strong enough to handle anything, that seeking help for depression is a "White" thing.
I say screw that.
Lexapro and Abilify have brought me a mighty long way.

do any of you lovely ladies, or men even, have any natural remedies for night sweats???.
i'm going crazy with them at the moment.. thanks in advance..
What worked for me: A lemon with peel and all, a cold glass of water to wash it down.
It will get better.
Hugs.

life is tough when you've spent your best years in the borg...how do you reconnect when kids are grown and you're close to retirement age?.
Thanks.

you may have already judged this film and you've never seen it!

i lol whenever i run across this term because it aptly describes the elders' wives i've known.. bossy and domineering for the most part, they delighted in being the alpha females and watched jealously to see if any other female received undue attention from the body of elders.. i remember one who told me that my dress was too short, another said i was spoiling my daughter, and yet another wanted to know from where i was buying her clothes!.
too much!.
lol.. sylvia.
Didn't think of that ...

One who somehow managed to find out who was going to get DF'd or "read off" (reproved) before anyone else knew it.
Did her husband talk in his sleep?

so as not to hijack logcon's thread about crazy things jw's have said to householders, i'd like to start one about just plain old odd jw's.. for example, i knew this dear, dear senior brother who would carry a small bag of peanuts in one pocket of his suit coat and a small plastic bag of brown sugar in the other.. during that time, we would stay out all day long because the territory was extensive.. can't you just picture that precious soul alternately tossing a few peanuts/crumbs of sugar into his mouth as he schlepped from house to trailer, from trailer to house?.
the householders would usually offer us water, lemonade, kool-aid, or soda pops, so no problem with finding something to quench our thirsts.. those were the days!.
sylvia.
LOL at all the examples!
