Don't slap her - praise to the high heavens her spot-on bitching.Don't worry, Steve2. I can see the wheels of her bright mind turning in all directions.
It won't be long, the smell of freedom is in the air.

Apparently No Christ-like Spirit at FTC Convention
by snowbird inmy 18-year old daughter came home after her first day at the convention in a foul mood.. she kept griping about this and that until i thought i was going to have to pimp slap the little heifer.
i guess all the talk about the internet and inactive ones had really gotten to her.. on a side note, my co-worker asked why it is called follow the christ.
she wanted to know how many christs are there.

Has being a Witness made it hard for you to love Jesus?
by jwfacts inwhenever i hear the word jehovah i still feel warm and fuzzy.
he was the god that i spent hours talking to in prayer, petitioning, thanking, pleading with.
he was my father, the creator, the one who we would worship for eternity.. jesus on the other hand i never spoke or prayed to.

Fellow southerner said:
I love Jesus and he is so precious to me now -- but I still pray to "Our Father"
I love Him, too. Always have since I was little girl, but I allowed the Org to push Him aside.
Someone started a thread asking did anyone on here ever want to go to heaven. I want to be wherever Jesus is. Simple as that.

Stereotypes among fellow Witnesses
by Save My Soul ini read a great thread relating to race and it spurred some thoughts.
it was mentioned that while a black speaker was on the platform, another brother made implied to that blacks could not have power/respect anywhere else.
this made me think of many stereotypes in society and in the organization.

Yes, they ARE scared. They are circling the wagons. Reactive as opposed to proactive.
I'm glad I'm not in their shoes. I would be repenting in sackcloth and ashes.

Am I making sense here?
Josie
Yes, you are making sense. My daughter went to a high school for international studies. Most of her friends were white, Indian, Pakistani, Asian, et al. A lot of people on my street thought she was "acting white" because she made good grades, graduated #2 in her class, and just today received an e-mail that she's getting her IB Diploma!
Even though we live in the Deep South, I refused to raise her to think that she had to restrict her friendship to black people only. It's high time we got beyond that mind-set. I see it on the job all the time, used to see it in the JW's, and it irritates the pish out of me. If anyone starts that junk around me, I tell them in no uncertain terms to get with the program.

I HAVE TO MOVE ON...............
by juni ini've met some wonderful friends here at this forum, but it's time for me to put the jw religion to rest.
it will be 15 years this october that i daed myself which in retrospect i wish i wouldn't have done as there are some former sisters who i would love to give a big hug and talk with who are in pain mentally, but i can't.
i agreed to their "rules" when i was baptized.

Welcome snowbird! What a beautiful alias name. Perhaps you are from a cold country or state? Though I think the little junco bird is also called a snowbird.
It's wonderful that you posted! I lurked for 2 years. You may hold the record. Doesn't matter though. And congratulations to your daughter!!!! How proud you must be.
I look forward to getting to know you better.
Juni
Juni, you said the above words to me on 1May2007. I will never forget how they warmed my heart. I was so nervous about posting on that day. Thank you for being so kind. We will miss you. Again, the best to you in all your endeavors.

Juni, I made my first post on May 1, 2007. I was such a nervous wreck that my nine-year old granddaughter had to get me up and running. I received 45 replies. Yours was one of those. Here's what you said:

Thank you so much for your warm welcome.
Snowbird I will miss you. As you can see, I still haven't got the hang of copying and pasting. Best wishes in all your endeavors.
