  i know this has been discussed many times, but i was watching a news story about female genital mutilation (not female circumcision) and segued mentally into why the hassle about male babies having to be circumcised, christians especially.

  even the wts flipflops on this...... if adam, the first perfect man, not under the jewish law code, was given a foreskin by god as an aspect of his physical perfection, why then do so many "christian" people have their boy babies circumcised?.

  if a health issue....why did god create the perfect man, adam, with a foreskin?.

  Reminds me of an old lady who would always say, "It's a pretty day ain't it?" no matter the weather.

  I can still see her now, 46 years later, at her woodpile with a huge smile on her face.

  Mental Illness

  over many years i have been pondering how mental illness has impacted upon jw's due to the effects of indoctrination.

  in my case; when i was 21 i had a breakdown and was hospitalised for 6 weeks.

  i was diagnosed with anxiety tension state disorder.

  One of my grandmas who rarely attended church lived to the age of 104.

  She had a live and let live attitude.

  I don't attend any religious services, but feel a deep connection to whom I believe to be the Creator.

  Went for a short walk, and just marveled at the verdant landscape.

  Would have gone farther, but people let their dogs roam freely here.

  My family, Lord, where do I begin?

  Impoverished, illiterate, ignorant Luddites.

  My father was a stone alcoholic, my mother a neurotic-bordering-on-psychotic mess.

  Add to this mixture a dose of Jim Crow and other oppression, stir long and well.

  Do you see why I was a prime target for the JW's teachings?
