They sure love to go 10 miles out of the way during field service to go get a up.......or was that to kill time??

it is named after an order of monks.. therefore should a jw drink cappuchino in view of its connection with a part of babylon the great?.

since i was out in fs today, and i was thinking why do jehovah's witnesses (supposedly teach false doctrine) but they want everybody to live a pure and clean life.
take for example not to recreational drugs and for everyone to be moral christian way of life as in galatians 5:22 and 23. so my question is why make up (supposed false teachings) yet act as a goody goody christan?
so my question is why make up (supposed false teachings) yet act as a goody goody Christan?
The answer in short, because they think it's right.
As you already know, they believe that what they teach, their "present truth" that is, can't be disputed or argued against because it's the absolute truth. So, of course they'll continue on to teach their false teachings......as long as the Governing Body tells them to.

as wonderful as the coverage was concerning abuse of children in the watchtower organization, i think most of us deep down know that it will be ignored, denied and/or described as apostate lies.. the most we can hope for is enlightenment of the general public to the fact that jw's are no different than any of the other religions they point fingers at.
it will make it more difficult to get a listening ear at the door.. the jw's exist in a very small world.
they are taught anything not coming from headquarters is basically lies.. any mistakes made were due to old light, or as i have heard from my own relatives...."well, the entire world didn't know any better so the "organization" is just catching up like everyone else.
I agree with you 100% restrangled.
I certainly don't expect a mass exodus out of the religion because of this, but hopefully it will affect a few JWs to the point of them to really want to start thinking. It's better than nothing.

Yesterday, 76 degrees. Tonight, 40 degrees, with a wind chill of 32.RF, did you get your wish???
Ehh...somewhat. I don't want to have anymore 75 degree weather this year.
R.F.
I actually wish it would cool down here. It's been hitting 75 consistently over the last week or so I believe. It doesn't feel like the fall season at all.

i heard the other day on the radio that gas (in the us) was up 81 cents/gal.
from this time last year.
i am sure the 2 at the beginning of the price of gas on the sign is about to be as extinct as the dodo bird.
Was anyone here actually successful in creating converts, or was it just a humiliating waste of time?
worldtraveller, It was one big waste of time for me. I never "helped anyone come into the Truth", and I hardly found anyone that was remotely interested. I could've finished college in all that time that was spent working for the Borg. Of course, I always thought, as we were taught, that even if no interest was found that I was successful. R.F.
just received this on a jw e-mail list, hadn't seen it on here before, so thought i'd share it, though it probably has been posted!
not sure what 'truth' has to do with selflessness!.
subject: 7%.
Ahhh...the JW e-mails.
I received this one a few weeks ago...didn't read it though lol. I only recognize it by the first sentence.
the "where's your jacket brother" thread reminded me of an incident.. i was conducting 4 bible studies two on a monday evening, one wednesday evening and one on a sunday morning.
i was working full time.. so the only first call i did was on an saturday morning for an hour (the cats ministry.
on a "shepherding call" (don't you just hate that) the elder told me i should be going out with the group on a sunday morning and do rvs on a saturday.
No praise, no pat on the back, no encourgement for you to keep on doing what your doing and try to "bring more to the flock"....nothing. Nothing but flaw finding(where there are none). This type of approach will only drive those away that really want to do something in the Borg, hopefully.

in nigeria, a bus carrying mostly jehovah's witness women, collided with a large truck on a return trip from a wedding ceremony.
24 died; doctors at a hospital are trying to save 13 others.
see "nigeria: road accident claims 24 in abia.".
to all affected

When I pioneered, I offered to drive many days....silly me.
Of course, I considered it a wonderful privilege to drive my vehicle to the ground because of magazine selling field service. The pioneers absolutely loved working rurals, and in fact, that's what they only worked during the weekdays. I sometimes found myself filling up the gas tank every couple of days, and I hate to mention the other problems that just driving out in many of the rural areas had caused on the vehicle I drove then. I'll also mention to that some of them just so conveniently "forgot" to offer anything and would just hop out of the car when we arrived back at the Hall.
Oh well, I was the one that volunteered to do it lol. I'm just glad I can use my the fuel now for other worthwhile activities.
