no. The only time is when I say 'Jehovah's Witnesses'. It sounds foreign to me now. I prefer Father. 'Jehovah' is not God's name and it never was. ever. No Israelite ever uttered the word since the 'j' was not even in use until the 14th century. Jesus(Yeshua) taught us to pray and never once used it in his examples, and that's good enough for me.

what i have realized studying JWs,the bitter truth
by spirituk inwell, i have been studying jws religion ,my cousin is a jw and i have visited him a lot of times.i have watched his way of living and things like that.i have been at the district convention last week.i read so many things from both sides.i came to the conclusion that if someone believes god exists then it is so easy and he should be a jehovah's witness.sadly its true and that is why so many people are and every year they baptised even more.. stories about jws reducing?wrong.. facing problems?
false.. everybody in the convention had an ipad ,iphones etc with the bible in it.
+ wifi .

spirituk, in your op it seems you're only looking at the outside of the wt 'cup'. Appearances can be deceiving, and in the case of the wt, completely deceiving.
I looked at the wt like that before I became a jw - couldn't believe EVERYone didn't want to be one! After you're 'one of them' the game plan changes. Then you find yourself caught by the false claims and false doctrines. Only then do the rose-colored wt glasses come off. You can't possibly think you, who've never been subjected to wt rules and regulations, can tell those of us who have been - ANYthing about the wt. We're the experts - and you're the inexperienced novice. Learn from us and RUN from that CULT as fast as you can!

another problem with the new FDS doctrine
by inbetween inthe issue july 15th 2013 changes the understanding of the fds dramatically, and it was broiught out here and on other places this creates numerous problems.. here is another one:.
jesus is supposed to be the head of the congregation.
when something goes wrong, he is often portrayed as the one having control over his congregation and also that in time he will act, clean the congo and direct elders (being the stars in his hand).

So he's absent, but present? How does that work?! Are they saying, in effect, that the fds/gb is the manifestation of Jesus' presence? So, they are saying they ARE Jesus? Yeah... I think that's what they're saying. CULT

punk - in the KIT, John 8:58 is translated on the English side: Jesus said to them: "Most truly I say to you, before Abraham came into existence, I have been."
On the Greek side the words are translated as: I AM
The footnote explains: This action expressed by this verb began in the past, is still in progress, and is properly translated by the perfect indicative. See App 2F.
"2F" is long so I won't write it out here - but bottom line it's to diffuse any thought of Jesus being Jehovah. Nevermind that the Greek words are simply I AM.
What surprised me most was the UN thing - couldn't believe it until I proved it to myself. From there every thing slid down that mountain of.... sh... uh, mud. I was already physically out, but being mentally out is the sweetest freedom.

I think Amelia has the answer - the 'other sheep', according to wt - are not in the picture by wt design.
It must be GMO wheat.

What piece of WT literature is worth holding onto, or have you kept? Why?
by losingit ini have basically thrown away all of my bound volumes and loose wt and awake magazines.
i kept some bpoks, the insight to the scriptures, god's love, the reasoning book, and daniel's prophecies (this was my favorite) .
i held onto insight to the scriptures after reading some of ray franz's book, crisis of conscience.

I kept the KIT New Testament because it shows wt's additions, changes and substitutions. I doubt now that I'll ever have a chance to use it as 'ammo'.
Oh well.
I burned all the other stuff too, and oh yeah, it felt good! Someone told me it might not even burn, lol - but it did,
with enough petro.

Angsty post
by zound ini'm not far away from sending out a bunch of letters to all the jw's who i knew when i was one.
the letters are the accumulation of the last few months of research etc.
i've put a lot of effort into wording things just right so that that the jw's don't instantly throw it in the trash.

Some will be curious enough to read it. It's cathartic to get it all out of your system. Do what you think you have to do, and then you'll at least be at peace with yourself, knowing you've done all you could do.
I hope some will be curious enough.

Why do most on JWN not share Ray Franz' views on GB equals SANHEDRIN?
by Fernando ini was not surprised when i read this in coc, last week, as i had come to this view a number of years ago.. what seems surprising is that whilst many have read coc, few if any share this view.. are there any ideas why this might be?.

- It's God's Organisation,
- It's God's Organisation but has apostatised
- It's nothing to do with God
I'll take a #3, please.
Don't most organised religious heirarchies resemble the Sanhedrin?
I'll take some more # 3's for them, too.

TIME FOR A MIND EXPERIMENT
by Terry intry this "mind experiment".. there is a very large sports stadium the size of texas.
inside this stadium there are four enormous crowds of people.
they are all believers in jehovah god and think of their religion as the truth exclusively.. group number one are all the people who read and believed the teachings of charles taze russell.. group number two are all the people who came along after judge rutherford became president of the society.. group number three are the jw's under nathan knorr up to the year 1975.. group number four are all the jehovah's witnesses post 1975 up to today.. .

I think this joke applies:
I was walking across a bridge one day, and I saw a man standing on the edge, about to jump off. I immediately ran over and said "Stop! Don't do it!"
"Why shouldn't I?" he said.
I said, "Well, there's so much to live for!"
"Like what?"
"Well ... are you religious or atheist?"
"Religious."
"Me too! Are you Christian or Jewish?"
"Christian."
"Me too! Are you Catholic or Protestant?"
"Protestant."
"Me too! Are you Episcopalian or Baptist?"
"Baptist."
"Wow! Me too! Are you Baptist Church of God or Baptist Church of the Lord?"
"Baptist Church of God."
"Me too! Are you Original Baptist Church of God, or are you Reformed Baptist Church of God?"
"Reformed Baptist Church of God."
"Me too! Are you Reformed Baptist Church of God, reformation of 1879, or Reformed Baptist Church of God, reformation of 1915?"
"Reformed Baptist Church of God, reformation of 1915!"
To which I said, "Die, heretic scum!" and pushed him off.
