What? So far no one sleeps in a Kingdom Hall? I thought lots of people did that.
What are they good for then?

Were the Cananites evil or were they simply destroyed for their land?
by jambon1 infrom the jw's/bible standpoint, was there good reason for 'god' to wipe out the cananite nation or was it just to give the jews the promised land?
please help me with this one if you can.
thanks.

The Caananites did have some prime real estate that was desirable to the little Hebrew tribe. Also, they had bad worship practices and a particularly nasty chief god named El.
Hmmmm. ISis-RA-EL. Israel. -

"Anyone wonder what the Watchtower Jesus would look like with his beard shaved off? You know, if Jesus were a good faithful clean-shaven dubbie. I am also struck at how the first picture is indebted to the negative (steroetypical) portrayal of Jews in Christian art -- could the expressions be any more grotesque?"
Watchtower Jesus did get a haircut and shave when he checked in at Brooklyn in 1914.

Watchtower Question from readers= Slams hunting??? Why???
by Witness 007 ineven though the bible does not condemn hunting watch them push their personal opinion and trun it into watchtower law.. watchtower dec 1 2007 p.31 "how should christians view hunting?
} "the bible does not condemn hunting or fishing.." {great leave it there..no need to push personal thoughts on brothers, right?
} ".....the apostles who were fisherman were likely gratified by a good catch.

Ah, so I can see the WT would favor Cain and his sacrifice over that spiritually weak hunter Abel!

Thank you, my friends
by Doug Mason indear friends,.
i would like to say thank you for the gratitude expressed for the scans i have been providing.. i had the time to do this while i was sitting at my computer during the hours, days and weeks that i cared for my very sick wife.
at the moment, my partner of 46 years lies very ill in hospital, so you will understand that i currently do not have the time to scour the various threads and posts.

My research has pointed to several intersections between Bible Students and freemasonry.
There are the obvious symbols, such as pyramid, cross & crown, winged solar disk, and several others that are shared by both schools of thought.
There is also shared terminology. "New World Order", "New Order", "New World", "widow's son" and "fatherless boy", "Golden Age", "Golden Dawn", "Millenial Dawn" are several that immediately come to mind.
Following these links lead to interesting connections. One branch leads to the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. There are further links to Rosicrucians and other groups, some of which teach of the Four Watchtowers at the corners of the Earth. One interesting connection leads to Aleister Crowley, whose disciple Jack Parsons was involved in rocket research along with the occult. His activities were part of the founding of the JPL in Pasadena, which is the agency that manages planetary space probes. Parsons was closely associated with L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology.
Wandering down all these rabbit holes can sure make your head spin. -

GODS OF THE WATCHTOWER
by tula in(my commentary: compare this illustration taken from an internet site to the red headed "great harlot" on page 239 of your revelation book.).
she was worshiped as queen of heaven and patron of marriage and women.
she also held the title eileithyia, the goddess of birth.

I saw in the Revelation Climax book, on page 277, there is Frosty hair Jesus consorting with the Queen of Heaven.
I asked the study conductor why that was so, and he did not have any idea why. When I learned that the WT considers itself to be "mother" I began to put it together.
We are dealing with a creepy religion here folks. -

Thanks for the account of your journey down the rabbit hole.
It may come about that I visit a kingdom hall and it is good to have an idea what to expect.
If that happens, I will publish my trip report here, natch.
