Mr. Johnson got himself a new secretary. She was young, sweet and very polite.
One day, while taking dictation, she noticed his fly was open. When leaving the room, she said, "Mr. Johnson, your barracks door is open." He did not understand her remark but later on, he happened to look down and saw that his zipper was open. He decided to have some fun with his secretary.
Calling her in, he asked, "By the way, Miss Jones, when you saw my barracks door open this morning, did you also notice a soldier standing at attention?" The secretary, who was quite witty replied, "Why no sir, all I saw was a little disabled veteran sitting on two duffel bags."

If a dub shows up and gloats over that failed prophecy, my response will be thus.
"Well you see, the world did end on that day, but it happened invisibly. The fireballs and upheaval was invisible, and was only seen by those who were spiritual enough to see it with the eyes of understanding."
Then I will sit back and let them deconstruct that faulty reasoning.

It is not the case that guns are less controlled than porn as objects. However there is a double standard with sexuality and nudity, compared to violence. A child of 18 will have seen thousands of acts of violence on broadcast television, many of them involving guns, while almost never seeing nudity or even a female breast.
It is very likely that these people were among those who set the cultural precedent for acceptance of violence and repression of sexuality. Recall that they were ejected from Europe for religious extremism.

the mess in the west continued
by Hortensia inwell, 60 or 70-car crash last night near siskiyou summit, due to ice on the road.
there's a traffic cam right about there, near holbrook, looks pretty bad tonight too.. heavy snow tonight and tomorrow, should be fun.
down to 16 degrees f. last night, pretty cold for a southern california gal who lives in norcal now.. have to take a pair of pliers out with me tomorrow, i have to turn a doohicky on the front wheels so i can use my 4wd, old-fashioned but very reliable vehicle.

Christmas Plans
by LouBelle inso what are your plans for christmas.. this year i am not spending it with my entire family.
some of them are doing their own thing/have their own plans, which i don't mind as sometimes those paticular family members can be straining.. so it will be spent with my mum, brother, father, some family friends and a couple of "strays" (people that don't have family to spend christmas with so we invite them over).
there will be a light breakfast shared and gifts opened in the morning.. i'm cooking up a feast:.
