much of Gods written word was hidden from mankinds eyes for a reason until these last days--so that the fds and no one else could have truths revealed through them exclusively

I have seen them claim this again and again, and yet scouring through decades of their literature does not turn up even one speck of evidence that it is so. Repeatedly claiming something is not proof that the claim is true.

please share your witty comebacks and a bible verse(s) that contradicts watchtower thought stopping platitudes and slogans.. here are a couple of mine.. 1) watchtower thougnt-stopping platitude - "where else will we go?".

Watchtower: "But if we were to draw away from Jehovah'sorganization, there would be no place else to go for salvation and true joy." (w93 09/15, p.22) Salvation and survival of Armageddon only comes to those baptized as associates and members of the Watch Tower organization and the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Destruction will come to all those not associated with "God's spirit-directed organization". TM

This is odd. In the Bible Teach book, which they use to lure in converts, they claim the opposite on page 183. That is the bait. Later they switch narratives and have you looking for salvation in an organization.

i find the notion that we inheirited sin through adam and eve to be a quaint, silly notion.

if you believe in the power of god, why would god create such a flawed creation?

few people believe the stories in genesis.

The Watchtower teaches this. What they don't tell you is that the doctrine as they teach it comes from so called Babylon the Great. Augustine of Hippo taught is, and also taught about infant baptism, Mary being a perpetual virgin and the concept of a just war. I wonder why they are lifting someof their teachings from Babylon the Great?

Does it become boring/monotonous reading thread after thread about how terrible the GB is and how much of a cult JWs are...etc. etc.?

Perhaps it does get boring, and many people are here for a while and move on when they need to with no questions asked.

It is not anywhere as boring as going through another Watchtower article or listening to another speaker drone on about how wonderful the governing body is, how they are the only people in the world who are preaching the gospel, and how you should show your appreciation for the fine gift of having them teach you by obeying them, and how the end of this system is so close and just around the corner. There are only so many ways to rephrase these claims, and the Watchtower has not said anything new for years. They rename the characters, but it is the same old script.

They used one of their favorite weasel words on page 28, that JWs have a prospect of being in paradise.

They also took an opportunity to put a positive spin on their downsizing, saying it is a sign that Jesus is ruling now and breaking down barriers.

Oh yeah. "Sporting" was a term for gambling and other vices. There are still guides around for such establishments. My brother had one about the brothels in Nevada when he was driving a long haul truck.

Conservatism and a prospering "sin" industry go hand in hand.

well, 60 or 70-car crash last night near siskiyou summit, due to ice on the road.

there's a traffic cam right about there, near holbrook, looks pretty bad tonight too.. heavy snow tonight and tomorrow, should be fun.

down to 16 degrees f. last night, pretty cold for a southern california gal who lives in norcal now.. have to take a pair of pliers out with me tomorrow, i have to turn a doohicky on the front wheels so i can use my 4wd, old-fashioned but very reliable vehicle.
