I have an old hardcover Rev book as well as a new one.
That is odd to be confused about "the Lamb" and "Jehovah".
This is all so Orwellian to have to go through you books with scissors and a paste pot.

let's talk about Holy Communion and the WTS "non-communion"
by potentialJWconvertswife inhere's the question: why do the whole memorial thing if (i'm assuming) there will be few or (in most cases) no one actually taking the sacrament?
and what reason does the wts give for saying only anointed can partake?
are there any examples of the disciples administering holy communion to any regular folks?

That ritual is very weird.
To be at such a ritual and not partake, and not realize how weird it is, one must exist in some kind of a bubble or pocket universe. -

An idea for those with "believing" mates
by Olin Moyles Ghost inin my short time on this board, i have noticed that there are many of us whose spouses do not yet share our balanced perception of the society.
the following suggestion is something i use with mrs. ghost from time to time.
as always, your mileage may vary.

Ah yes, the Finished Mystery!
On page 188 we are informed that the Archangel Michael, AKA Jesus, is the Pope!
Page 159 has this gem of wisdom:
"Whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon.--And he is 'a bad one' sure enough.--2 Cor. 4:4. But in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.--That is, Destroyer. But in plain English his name is SATAN, THE DEVIL."
The Revelation Climax book informs us that Michael is Jesus, and Abaddon is also Jesus.
So, following FDS logic, Jesus=Michael=Abaddon=Satan=the Pope!
Gotta hand it to the Watchtower, they have one up on the Mormons, who have Jesus and Satan cast as brothers. -

I was watching a JW promo DVD and saw a segment where the narrator mentioned "free labor" in connection with a kingdom hall build.
This bothered me so much I had to pause it and make some comments about it to the study conductor.
The labor is not free! It may be free to the WT corporation, which explains why they squander labor like it is a nearly unlimited resource. This comes at a cost to the donor of the labor, who has direct expenses of maintaining themselves, and transportation. They also have the expense of their time, which is a limited resource and could be used for something else beneficial and productive that brings value.
That the WT would dismiss their labor as being "free" is so disrespectful that it is unconscionable. -

?ing the JW intro DVD
by potentialJWconvertswife inokay, so i've seen the first boring part of the dvd singing the praises of the wts for their wonderful literature and dedication to distributing it in hopes of enlightening the masses.
now gearing up to watch part 2- "our whole association of brothers" -or something like that.
i plan on taking notes regarding questionable beliefs, etc.

FRAUDULENT door to door premise from the "Catholic" Governing Body
by Terry inaccording to the organization with its governing body pronouncements of "truth", the bible was written for and directed to the chosen elite with the heavenly hope and not to the rank and file "other sheep.".
if this were truly so, would that not mean the admonitions to preach the good news of the kingdom would, logically, be directed soley to the chosen elite and not to the the rank and file as well?.
if the governing body possesses that magically spirit-directed message of truth--and they only--it would be irresponsible for non-anointed to take upon themselves work given to the chosen few, would it not?.

In a legal sense, to witness something you must have first hand observation and experience. If you relay the testimony of someone else it is considered hearsay evidence and is not admisable in court.
Given the doctrine that only the annointed can understand most of scripture, and they pass their knowledge to the great crowd, the a member of the great crowd could not possible be considered a primary witness, as they would be mostly presenting hearsay testimony to a householder.
As a householder who has spoken with many so called witnesses, I can tell that I am being presented with hearsay testimony, and it actually works against me having confidence in what I am being told. -

Ok, lets set the record straight was it a CROSS or a STAKE
by Witchs Son inand what would you say about the book often referenced by the society as a backing for the stake theory, the non-christian cross by j. d. parsons ?.
you can also download it here if you prefer.
i know that book was written in 19th century so i hope that won't be used as an argument against it after all sir isaac newton's principia was written in 1687 and we aren't holding that against it either.

Okay, I am going to do my thing of coming from left field...
Given that the Watchtower has a fascination with blood and impaling torture death on a stake, and an aversion to the cross, I have to wonder.
Do they have any connection to Vlad the Impaler? He was the man who was the source of vampire and Dracula legends.

Lurkers and Newbies..please read appendix 1-D in the NWT Fraud Bible....
by oompa inyou will see two major things in the reference bible.....1-that the inspired word has been changed....altered by satan and apostates...they took gods name out of the greek scriptures....check the insight book under jehovah and you will find that there is not a single ancient manuscript in the greek scriptures that contains the divine name.
2- you will notice that appendix 1-d tells us that they have "restored" the divine name in the greek scriptures where it was quoting from the hebrew scriptures.
there is no manuscript support for doing this, but what is worse is that they don't tell you they have also put it in the nwt wherever the hell they feel like it!!

Interesting thing, if you can get a Kingdom Interlinear (a purple Bible) and look in there you will see the original Greek and how it was translated. There is no YHVH anywhere. What you find is that the Greek word KURIOS is often translated as Jehovah. (Rev 21:22)
But other times is is translated as LORD, which is the usual translation that is accepted by scholars. (John 4:1)
One notices a funny thing about the translators rendering of this word. When KURIOS is referring to Jesus it is translated as LORD Jesus. (Luke 24:3) If the translators were consistent and KURIOS really meant Jehovah, then it would properly be rendered in English as Jehovah Jesus. I wonder what gives?!?
