"religion is a snare and a racket".
...ironically, today the wt is a bonafied religion..

Well, thanks for the promotion.
Actually it has inspired me to greater heights...
Rub a dub dub
Three elders in a tub
and who do you think were there
The service oveerseer, coordinator and school oveerseer
all of them had ne'er a care
Ruba dub dub
Three elders in a tub
and why do you think they be
They are on their way to a judicial commitee
to snub another dub gleefully
Well.. It's not finished but I am sure someone can add something
I dub thee Sir Preachalot

The Meetings
As a JW you know what to do
twice a week, does it give you a clue?
Yes, go to the meetings, without fail
don't be late or you'll go to jail.
If you don't attend there's something wrong
Probably you're not so spiritually strong.
“I've never missed one” some say out loud
it's their badge of honour and makes them proud
So, what is so good? some may ask
well, let's see, through a looking glass
The Congregation Bible Study is the first one
You comment from a book, it's really great fun
The Bible highlights, what's that? Can you guess
Your chance to comment, thirty seconds, or less
The school is so nice, you give some talks
Then a brother will tell you all your faults.
The service meeting, well what can I say?
How to preach the JW way.
A chance for the GB to keep you straight
Lot's of do and dont's, what's there to hate?
A public talk gives you plenty to do
taking notes through and through
The Watchtower study, it's just great,
Answer from the page, do not deviate.
So now you know what you'll miss if you don't go
I bet you can 't wait for the next show.
It doesn’t cost much so come for a greeting
at the best place you can go. A JW meeting !
just had a brain fart and i don't think i'll actually try this, but see what you think.. .
i made myself a promise that i was done serving on jcs roughly 2 years ago.
and, with the exception of a rubber stamp reinstatement charade, i've kept that promise.
" So here's the brilliant idea that I don't have the chutzpah to carry out. The next time a JC is formed, I'll volunteer to be on it and will likely be chosen since the others are getting pretty burned out. That's where Jury Nullification comes in. Unless the accused admits to child molestation, (In which case I'd excuse myself to call the cops before he could leave the building) my stand would be:He/She is repentant. Private reproof. Period."
Elders are appointed with Holy Spirit ..right
So the fact you are still an Elder must mean you have Jehovah's approval.
So if you are on a JC which is ( supposedly) under the direction of the Holy spirit and you decide to do what you said and it is accepted then it must be the right thing to do..right.
If you are doing something wrong, Jehovah would see to it that you don't serve on a JC or as an Elder..right?
So you should do what you think is right, right?
is indeed apparently nigh as another poster predicted along with the end of the weekly bs.
not sure when this should take place but i'm reliably informed by a family member that one of the uk's overseers was talking about it fairly recently.
reduced to weekend visits by an outside but local elder instead.. i have no further info..
If i am incorrect please correct me, but I thought the CO arrangement was based on scriptural example. Paul has always been held up as the example and reason for the arrangement. Also for missionaries. What could be the scriptural reason for abandoning this arrangement do you think? ( if it's true!) Does it mean that the missionary arrangement will also be phased out?
brothers i absolutely had to join this web site once i saw the new km for this coming month, has any one else had a chance to view this?
i'm absolutely flabbergasted for the first time in my life, what about the the apostle paul and the bereans?
didn't he encourage them to go and find out for them selves the truth?
Hi there Some have found this information useful. http://perimeno.ca/Index.htm I hope you can take a look at it
i just cannot understand how any one in their right mind can read the experiences here concerning the wachtower society's false claims, lies, trickery and deceit, and the example shown by the so-called "elders" in treating the flock with disdain and cruelty, and still stay a jehovah's witness.. lurkers, how can you do that?
do you simply dismiss all the evidence?
have any of you experienced such evil acts personally and still stay connected to the jw's?.
Thansk for the responses to my comments. Well, I guess that in essence it all boils down to a matter of opinion doesn't it. I was a lurker for a while before joining( actually I think that I would prefer or be called a peruser) to see what was going down on this forum. So I find a lot of opinions. I gleaned from my perusing that: *1914 is dead wrong. *607 BCE is dead wrong. *There is no Governing Body. *The GB (if it exists) is made up of money grabbing egocentric's who have no other desire than to control. *There is no such thing (yet) as the Faithful and discreet slave. *The elders in the congregations are closeted sex maniacs/puritanical despots who get great delight in exercising authority over all the flock. *The WT is just in it for the money. *Field service is of very little value and demeans those who take part in it. *The majority of witnesses are gullible foolish people who in general have no idea of what they are doing and are being manipulated by masterful mind control. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, that is why this forum is popular. A multitude of opinions. However JW's believe that there is a loving God ( which I am sure that most people on this forum do) and they believe that the same God is going to guide them to the truth. So I can see how a witness who sees wrongdoing( ie: what is mentioned above) may not necessarily feel that escaping or embarking on a mission to expose the wrongdoing is the wise course. I don't think they feel it is a "head in the sand" response. They believe that by looking at the accounts recorded in the Bible, esp God's dealings with the Israelite nation and the problems that affected the early Christian congregation, they see Jehovah knew what was happening and eventually took action. So their sticking to the JW religion is their way of showing faith in God. And I guess they know that JW's are not the only religion that has faults and has mislead people in some way so they don't see any reason to leave and join up with another religion. Can we judge them as being foolish? Those who leave JW's feel they are right and express their opinion accordingly. Others stay and wait on Jehovah. What does God want us to do? Can we really say who is right and who is wrong? Perhaps some of the "lurkers" would like to join and express their opinion?

An elder said to me a short time ago when I was discussing my feelings about the problems in the JW's organisation "This is a time of testing & sifting,& some matters may not even be resolved until Armageddon as indicated by Zeph 3:11,12. The wisest thing to do is to change the things you can, endure the things you cant. Work with the direction as closely as your conscience will allow & try to have confidence that Jehovah will eventually readjust things if they are not right." I know for a fact that this elder is a very loving, concerned person and I know he wants to do as much as he can to help others. So leaving the JW's is not an option for him. I think this is how most get by these days. Having great faith in Jehovah not in men to put right what is wrong in time. I think that's why the they put up with it.
hi... i'm a newbie here.
i have been associated with jw's for quite some time however there is one aspect of being a witness that i can't quite come to terms with that is the prohibition on celebrating a person's birthday i have of course read the arguments for this but find them somewhat unconvincing.
is it really the case that everyone follows this direction?
Thanks for the replies I see that there is not a lot of basis for going along with this teaching. Do you think some secretly ignore it? Does anyone have such experience? If so how did you feel about it? Guilty?... or just ...it's OK cos it's not such a big thing Just wondering Thanks for the input
