This is what is written in the Jan 2014 WT article
Let Your Kingdom Come”—But When?
In his detailed prophecy about the conclusion of this system of things, Jesus said: “This generation will by no means pass away until all these things happen.” (Read Matthew 24:33-35.) We understand that in mentioning “this generation,” Jesus was referring to two groups of anointed Christians. The first group was on hand in 1914, and they readily discerned the sign of Christ’s presence in that year. Those who made up this group were not merely alive in 1914, but they were spirit-anointed as sons of God in or before that year.—Rom. 8:14-17.
16 The second group included in “this generation” are anointed contemporaries of the first group. They were not simply alive during the lifetime of those in the first group, but they were anointed with holy spirit during the time that those of the first group were still on earth. Thus, not every anointed person today is included in “this generation” of whom Jesus spoke. Today, those in this second group are themselves advancing in years. Yet, Jesus’ words at Matthew 24:34 give us confidence that at least some of “this generation will by no means pass away” before seeing the start of the great tribulation. This should add to our conviction that little time remains before the King of God’s Kingdom acts to destroy the wicked and usher in a righteous new world.—2 Pet. 3:13.
I can't help thinking that this resembles an old Marx brothers skit "The Contract"

Surely is insanity.

The caption under the picture in the first article
Hail Christ—The Glorious King!
says:
Birds will be called on to cleanse the earth (See paragraph 18)
I think that is a fowl thing to say.
It must surely sow seeds of doubt in many.
Looks like the WTS is winging it as far as Bible prohecy is concerned.
But I guess I shouldn't get into a flap about it.

If I was out I'd...
by OneDayillBeFree inwhat kinds of things would you like to do if you were out of the organization?
and if you're already out and free, what kinds of things did you do that you really wanted to do but couldn't because it was against jw beleiefs?.
recently, i overheard some of the younger crowd of jw's after a meeting talking about how they wished they could have this or do that, get tattoos, play the newest video games (you know, the ones with all the violence and realistic 'kickass' graphics and such), grow out their beards for 'no shave november" wear miniskirts and dye their hair crazy colours... etc.

Get up Sunday morning and do a "Yeah! no preaching dance".
Something similar to a snoopy dance.

i am long past that "excitement", been out for a couple of years now.
this was the first time they rang my door bell.

Thanks for the great idea
Now I know what to do when I work with the CO next time.
Perhaps that's part of answering the question in last weeks service meeeting item.
Question 3. What can help us be less nervous when working with the circuit overseer?
My original response was " Don't work with him"
but now I can see " disagree with him in front of a householder"
is much more fun and rewarding.

by KateWild inbecause the gb say so, and they are guided by hs.. anyother offers from the brochure?

The brochure uses the expression "Dress up" for meetings.
Dictionary.com gives one of the the meanings as
"to come into line, as troops"
Interesting....... especially in my congregation the TMS oveerseer
would not be out of place on a military parade ground.

Next Assembly Resolutions
We resolve to tell lies, more lies, and pass them off as New Light.
We resolve to shun anyone who does not agree with what the newly recognised
Faithful and Discreet Slave says.
We resolve to continue promoting WWW.JW.ORG to be used on tablets
in the field service even though 80% of witnesses cannot afford one.
We resolve to obey the hundreds of rules given to congregation Elders ( to control the
"flock" ) even though we know rules are not necessary.
We resolve to shop anyone who says "aye" to this resolution but is thinking differently
so they can be rounded up and taken before a Judical commitee.
Probably everyone would say "Aye" to this.

My wife, who is a die hard witness, always said,
"Any one not a witness will die at armaggedon"
was watching the news yesterday.
I forget exctly what was being reported but it was about
some group helping others in various ways.
She suddenly said:
" I'm sure Jehovah isn't going to destroy everyone at Armaggedon.
There are some really nice people who are not witnesses who I am
sure Jehovah will save."
Gasp, choke... did I hear that??????
I replied.. "Yes I am sure that is the case...."
I was flabbergasted. I never expected to hear that, especially from her.
TTATT getting through?

by KateWild inthis brochure is being studied, in the org starting form this week.

it lies to us about how the wt is doing jehovah's will.. we are going to be subjected to lies, lies and more lies for weeks.

I sat through the coverage of the brochure yesterday.
It was like being in a kindergarden.
" Now children, let us find the answer to the question on para 1.
If you get it right I will give you a star"
Good grief.....how many more weeks to go

Most Irritating Thing About The Jw's
by integ infor me it is the smugness.
it's their inability and refusal to admit they are wrong....ever...even in the face of irrefutable evidence.
isn't pride a sin?

If you are a witness you are supposed to be at anyone's beck and call to help them with whatever
they need doing at that time.
If you don't help ( often for good reasons) you are are labelled as being spiritually weak or not showing
christlike love.
Phone call.." Hey Brother, I know it's 2am, but I need my drain unblocking. Could you come round and give me a hand?"
